Wimbledon 2025: The best screenings and celebrations in London

19 Jun 2025 | | By Annie Lewis

Wimbledon fever is about to sweep over the capital for two weeks of exhilarating tennis, strawberries and cream and plenty of Pimm's

The pristine whites, the draw-dropping drop shots and the thrilling rallies: Wimbledon will soon be back in all its glory. And while the main action will, of course, be taking place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, for those of us not lucky enough to secure tickets in the ballot (and who aren’t hardcore enough to camp overnight to be first in the queue), there are plenty of ways to get involved beyond Centre Court.

From catching all the matches on one of the capital’s many open-air screens to themed afternoon teas and more strawberries-and-cream flavoured concoctions than you can shake a tiny paper umbrella at, here are the best Wimbledon screenings, events and celebrations taking place in London this year.

Strawberry afternoon tea at The Peninsula, Belgravia

To celebrate the spirit of Wimbledon, The Peninsula is launching a limited-edition Strawberry Afternoon Tea from 21 June in homage of one of the tournament’s most iconic flavours. Indulge in themed creations such as a strawberry and Timur pepper mousse with vanilla ganache, strawberry choux, jasmine tart with white chocolate crunch, and fruity, almond mousse with millionaire shortbread.

Savoury highlights include elevated classics such as beef bresaola, roast chicken and smoked salmon finger sandwiches. From 30 June to 13 July, guests can also enjoy a special tennis ball dessert as part of the afternoon tea – a dark chocolate shell filled with crispy raspberries, made to be smashed open with a miniature tennis racket. The hotel will also have its own Pimm’s trolley offering an array of refreshing Wimbledon-inspired drinks.

Christy x Wimbledon pop-up at Harrods, Knightsbridge

Christy x Wimbledon pop-up at Harrods

Marking its 39th year as an official towel supplier of Wimbledon, Christy has opened an exclusive pop-up at Harrods to coincide with the championships. Named the Locker Room, it will offer a one-off experience for tennis fans and design lovers alike to discover more about the 175-year-old British brand. At the heart of the pop-up is a vintage locker room-inspired wall, retailing the full Christy x Wimbledon 2025 collection, while inside the lockers, a curated display of historic Wimbledon towels delves into nearly four decades of courtside history.

The adjacent installation invites guests to step into a quintessential British picnic scene: think strawberries and cream on Henman Hill with suspended tennis balls. Launching at the pop-up is the limited-edition So Last Season collection: an exclusive range of upcycled products made from 2024’s surplus Wimbledon towels. Building on the success of last year’s sell-out Heirloom bag, the 2025 line expands to include a robe, spacious tote, and the return of the shoulder bag, each designed as a collectible keepsake. Last but not least, the first 20 customers will receive a complimentary gift with each purchase. Be quick.
