Oxford Street, West End: 3 November

Oxford Street will kickstart London’s festive season with its iconic starry light display on 3 November, hosted in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity to raise vital funds to help seriously ill children this Christmas. This year, Europe’s longest shopping street will once again be environmentally conscious, with the light display crafted from 300,000 recycled polymer LED lights. As ever, Oxford Street will be brimming with festive activities, from the ever-popular Santa’s Grotto at John Lewis, featuring a Santa Paws experience for four-legged friends, to the new Christmas shop at Ikea. The fun doesn’t stop there; explore the spectacular Selfridges Christmas Shop and discover exciting pop-ups throughout the store, created in collaboration with Disney.

Carnaby Street, Soho: 6 November

Carnaby Street’s world-famous light displays are Instagram catnip for the masses. The buzzy street will be illuminated from 6 November 2025, with a brand-new ‘All Is Bright’ installation designed by Sculptivate seeing 6m-long light forms suspended above the street, which will come alive with hourly light displays. Set to return annually for the next five years, the focus here is also on sustainability, with the installation making use of more than 60,000 energy-efficient LED bulbs.

Regent Street and St James’s, West End: 6 November

Regent Street and St James’s festive light display, the Spirit of Christmas, will illuminate skies from 6 November 2025. The sparkling canopy of lights will be comprised of more than 50 large-scale spirits, soaring above Regent Street, Regent Street St James’s, Piccadilly and Jermyn Street, and will be visible from the early evening. Powered by green energy, the 300,000-light scheme is made up of low-energy LED bulbs which operate on a timer, conserving energy during daylight hours and overnight.

Covent Garden, West End: 12 November

Covent Garden piazza will come alive on 12 November 2025, with a festive light display featuring more than 260,000 dazzling bulbs, and an impressive British-grown 55ft Christmas tree, adorned with a further 30,000 twinkling lights. Themed around the Theatre of Christmas, the festive decor will also extend into the market, which will see the return of its famous giant baubles, bells, and mirror balls. Visitors can also expect exclusive pop-ups, Christmas offers and in-store promotions, alongside over 1,000 weatherproof outdoor dining seats across 55 restaurants, promising the chance to experience the magical festive scheme from all angles.

Marylebone Village: 12 November

Head down to charming Marylebone Village from 3-8pm on 12 November 2025 to celebrate Merry Marylebone and the switching on of a beautiful Christmas light display in support of The Marylebone Project, which provides life-changing help for homeless women. To mark the unveiling, retailers and restaurants will be offering exclusive promotions, festive experiences, gifts with purchase and specially curated menus throughout the day. Alongside special in-store discounts, a variety of exciting activities will take place across the village, including a charity tombola, artisan food and gift stalls, live music, a Santa’s grotto, fairground rides and a switch-on moment.

Old Spitalfields, Shoreditch: 12 November

Old Spitalfields Market will be transformed into a winter paradise on 12 November 2025 as it marks the start of the festive season in East London. From 3pm, the market will turn into a hive of festive activity with music, creative workshops, delicious food and drink, and the big light switch-on. Hoxton Radio will be bringing live music throughout the afternoon, with a local gospel choir taking to the stage at 5pm before the big switch-on at 6pm. Families can enjoy free children’s activities, including face painting and Christmas crafts, alongside roaming elves spreading seasonal cheer. Adding to the magic, guests will be able to get a live portrait drawn by illustrator Ella De Souza, and sip on hot mulled wine or spiced apple cider, indulge in mince pies, and explore the market’s delicious array of street food vendors serving warming seasonal dishes.

Leadenhall Market, City of London: 13 November

Festive revellers can enjoy Leadenhall Market in all its illuminated Victorian splendour on 13 November 2025, when it will be flanked by a giant Christmas tree, festooned with colour-changing LED lights and crowned with beautiful fir garlands. As part of the much-loved annual ceremony, Susan Langley, the newly appointed 697th Lady Mayor of London, will switch on the lights at 6pm, while late-night shopping, workshops and festive guided tours will get the season started with aplomb.

Chelsea: 15 November

Head to the famous King’s Road, as well as nearby Duke of York Square and Sloane Square, for the grand unveiling of the Chelsea Christmas lights on 15 November 2025. The street will be part-pedestrianised between Sloane Square and Walpole Street for a festive market and day of family fun, before Father Christmas switches on the lights at 5pm with a local helper. Sloane Street will continue the festive celebrations with an afternoon of enchanting activities and immersive experiences, including Diptyque and Brunello Cucinelli hot chocolate carts, a Boodles candy cane cart and more.

This year, the beloved Ever After Garden will open in a new location, Duke of York Square, where 30,000 illuminated white roses will create a remembrance garden from 13 November until 16 December.

Belgravia: 16 November

The charming streets of Belgravia will be illuminated from 16 November 2025, with the launch of a festive trail featuring beautiful installations across the picturesque neighbourhood, spanning Motcomb Street, Elizabeth Street, Pimlico Road, Eccleston Yards and Halkin Arcade. The London Gay Men’s Chorus and the Fulham Brass Band will be performing a moving set throughout the day, while Santa and two of his reindeer will visit Motcomb Street from 12-5pm. Lights at Elizabeth Street will be switched on the lights on at 4.45pm while there will be a Christmas market in Eccleston Yard as well as seasonal offers, treats, and in-store events at retailers across the neighbourhood.

Fleet Street Quarter, City of London: 19 November

Fleet Street Quarter will officially kick off its festive season on 19 November 2025 when Ludgate Circus is illuminated during a special switch-on event. This year introduces a brand-new Snoopy Sculpture Trail, created in partnership with Wild in Art and Peanuts, bringing a collection of artist-designed Snoopy installations to the historic streets for the first time. Participating artists include social media influencer Becky Smith and award-winning children’s author Fran Preston-Gannon, who have each created an individual artistic interpretation of Snoopy on his famous doghouse, with the trail to be accompanied by a bespoke audio trail.
