Grace Wales Bonner at Serpentine Sackler Gallery, Kensington Gardens

In this much anticipated new exhibition at Serpentine Galleries, award-winning menswear designer, Grace Wales Bonner, explores themes of magic and mysticism by bringing together a group of artists including Chino Amobi, Black Audio Film Collective, Liz Johnson Artur, and Ishmael Reed, among many others. The multi-sensory exhibition consists of a series of installations and shrines, culminating in the presentation of her forthcoming Autumn/Winter 2019 collection, Mumbo Jumbo. A live programme includes performances from composer, playwright and artist, Klein, and performance artist, Michael-John Harper.

The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair, Battersea Park

The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair returns this week for six days at Battersea Evolution. Uniting the world of antiques and interior design, the inpsiring winter fair showcases rare and collectible antique furniture, alongside art, textiles and trend-led designs. The Beckhams and Eddie Redmayne have previously been spotted at the fair, which offers decorators, designers and enthusiasts everything they need under one impeccable roof. This year, the winter fair will present a ‘Cocktail Hour’ theme inspired by the fashionable 1950s and 60s deco glamour. Martini, anyone?

VAULT Festival, Waterloo

Held in the cavernous depths of Waterloo, VAULT festival opens for eight wonderful weeks of eclectic entertainment spanning theatre, comedy, cabaret, late-night cabaret and immersive events. Bill Viola and Michelangelo at Royal Academy of Arts, Piccadilly

Life Death Rebirth brings together two artists, born centuries apart, who explore the same universal themes with works of transcendent beauty and raw emotional power. On display are Michelangelo’s most poignant works, including those from Windsor such as his drawings of the Crucifixion, as well as his only marble sculpture in the UK. From Viola, there are 12 major installations spanning his entire career, including the extraordinary Tristan’s Ascension, an extraordinary five-metre-high projection depicting the ascent of the soul after death.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the London A Cappella Festival returns to King’s Cross with an impressive line-up of international headliners and supergroups, celebrating a decade of vocal magic. Presenting world-class flagship projects, the festival prides itself on drawing the world’s finest a cappella performers to the capital and providing performances and learning platforms for singers of all ages and abilities.
