In addition to a newly refurbished Beauty Hall, the Knightsbridge department store has announced the launch of H Beauty – an ambitious new project to open standalone Harrods beauty boutiques across the UK

Harrods is reportedly the biggest seller of beauty in the UK, which is an impressive feat from one location. It is easy to see why the Knightsbridge retailer holds a 9.3 per cent share of the UK beauty market, however, when you step inside its sparkling new Beauty Hall, which has doubled in size since last year following a complete refurbishment. By spring 2020, it will total an impressive 90,000sq ft, making it a contender for the largest beauty destination in the world.

Following the opening of the first-phase in June, Harrods has unveiled a new skincare emporium, curated with more than 40 prestigious brands. Shoppers can segue effortlessly between counters such as La Mer, La Prairie and Eve Lom, as well as doctor-led brands including Dr Sebagh, RéVive, Dr Barbara Sturm and 111Skin. This is complemented by the prestigious 4th floor Wellness Clinic, which specialises in dermatology and aesthetics procedures, as well as Europe’s only Anastasia Beverly Hills brow bar.

There is a focus on J-Beauty brands, including Clé de Peau Beauté and Decorté, which are exclusive to Harrods, as well as Shiseido and Sensai. A mindful affair, Harrods houses an array of pioneering natural beauty including Tara Harper, Wildsmith Skin, Fresh Beauty and Votary. Tech-savvy customers are kept busy with a wealth of cutting-edge gadgets, including cleansing brushes, massaging tools and rose quartz rollers.

The design has been led by Harrods’ Director of Beauty Annalise Fard, who was recently recognised at the CEW Beauty Awards as an innovator in modern luxury. “It is the ultimate beauty sweetshop,” she said. “Whether it’s medi-cosmetic beauty or taking a unique approach to sustainability, our curation is a true testament to our commitment to fulfilling our customers’ beauty needs.”

Harrods has also announced the launch of H Beauty, which will see standalone Harrods beauty boutiques opening across the UK next year. Scheduled for spring 2020, the first outpost will be in Essex, followed by Milton Keynes. The signature forest green frontage will be updated in playful candy pink, appealing to a younger generation of beauty aficionados. “From the rise of K-Beauty and J-Beauty to personalised products, the ability to express our individuality through beauty today is extraordinary,” concludes Fard. “We are entering an era of true self-expression, empowerment and celebration of identity.”
