Inside Dior’s vast new Sloane Street boutique

The house doubles its Knightsbridge footprint with an elegant new store

French fashion house Dior has thrown open the doors to its brand-new boutique on Sloane Street today (30 June). Twice the size of its existing Sloane Street store, which will now close, the boutique is set over three floors and will showcase the full span of Dior collections, bringing Dior menswear to Knightsbridge for the first time.

Taking inspiration from the brand’s Parisian flagship at 30 Avenue Montaigne, a pristine stone façade decorated with an interpretation of the house’s signature cannage motif welcomes guests into a light, elegant and airy space.

Creams, whites and neutral tones are used throughout with subtle accents of colour used to give each floor a distinct feel. Downstairs, darker tones and blue furnishings create a more masculine atmosphere to a floor that homes menswear, men’s accessories and a small bookshop offering tomes dedicated to the history of Dior.

Head up the spiral staircase, also decorated with the cannage motif, and you’ll find a bright, modern open-plan floor designed for Dior’s core womenswear and seasonal Dioriviera collections. This floor is also home to a private shopping area which can be separated from the rest of the boutique and boasts its own dedicated dressing room.

The main floor, meanwhile, is given over to jewellery, bags, shoes and accessories, with interior design elements inspired by the house’s famous Versailles parquet, toile du Jouy and cannage worked in throughout.

And, if the collections themselves don’t present quite enough to admire, the new Dior boutique is hung with colourful artworks by British artists, including Victoria Morton, Peter Seal and Selma Parlour, while furniture has been sourced from design luminaires such as Christophe Delcourt and Patricia Urquiola.

Beautiful clothes and interior design inspiration? We know where we’re heading this weekend…
