The gold-medal-winning Olympian’s London Bridge bachelor pad hits the market

Joe public has long been fascinated by the personal lives of Olympic athletes. So it may be of interest to fans of Team GB diver Tom Daley, who took his first Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020 last week, that his former home in London Bridge has been listed for sale.

Bought by Daley as a new build in 2014, the flat was last on the market in 2018, when Daley sold it to move into a larger home just 10 minutes away with his husband Dustin Lance Black – a clear vote of confidence in Southwark, where the property is based. Indeed, the apartment’s proximity to Borough Market, Central London and the neighbourhood’s famed foodie and nightlife culture is undoubtedly one of its biggest draws.

The architects of the Atollo Building, in which the apartment is located, made good use of its prime location, wrapping the flat with three large terraces. Totalling some 800 sq ft of al fresco space, each makes an ideal spot for entertaining outdoors while taking in great views of the London skyline – in the case of Daley, from the comfort of a hot tub (a feature removed by the current owners).

Inside, the open-plan flat spans 962 sq ft and incorporates two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large kitchen/dining/living area. The unusual architecture of the property means it boasts south, west and east-facing floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the recently-refurbished, colourful interiors with plenty of natural light.

“The development offers residents a certain element of exclusivity,” says Tom Johnston, director of selling agent Dexters, London Bridge. “There is a genuine sense of community among the residents, and this adds to the property’s distinctive feel.

“Tom Daley is a hero to so many people in Britain, so the fact that he once called this property home will certainly drive up interest. The property will be great for a couple or family looking for a spacious and tranquil home right in the heart of the city.”

Whoever the apartment’s next owners might be, they’ll be in good company. Actress Ruth Jones, artist Norman Ackroyd and fashion designer Zandra Rhodes are all known to be long-term residents of the area.

The Pilgrimage Street apartment is listed for sale with Dexters for £999,999, visit for more information.
