Taste of London Festival, Regent’s Park (from Wednesday)
Taste of London once again transforms Regents Park this week for a five-day culinary extravaganza. Partaking restaurants this year include Smokestak, Hoppers, Bun House, Trishna and vegan-friendly favourite, Wildflower. You can be one of the first in the UK to sample eggslut, the cult Californian restaurant set to debut in London this summer, and enjoy demonstrations by some of the world’s leading chefs including Yotam ottolenghi, Tom Aikens, Dominique Ansel and Melissa Hemsley. Quench your thirst with a glass of champagne in the Laurent-Perrier garden or a shaken-not-stirred tipple by The World Class Cocktail Bar.

Serpentine Pavilion, Hyde Park (from Friday)
The Serpentine Pavilion is unveiled this week, designed by Japanese architect Junya Ishigami. Made entirely from slate, a single canopy roof creates a cave-like space, which contrasts against the structure’s leafy surroundings. The creation by the Tokyo-based architect has been designed to show that nature and architecture can exist harmoniously beside one another, which is a reoccurring theme throughout Ishigami’s work.

Hannah Shergold Solo Exhibit at La Galleria Pall Mall, St James’s (all week)
British painter Hannah Shergold unveils her latest solo exhibition this week at the La Galleria Pall Mall. Shergold studied veterinary science at Cambridge University before serving a before serving as a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan and Kenya. She swapped propellers for paintbrushes in 2018 and has become known for her large-scale, expressive portraiture and wildlife paintings. Her new body of work has been created in partnership with the Born Free Foundation and is inspired by the charity’s work promoting the survival of threatened species in the wild. Prices start from £5,600 and 20 per cent from the sale of each piece will be donated to the charity.

Chelsea Summer Fête (Saturday)
Duke of York Square and Pavilion Road in Chelsea are hosting a summer fête this Saturday. Guests can peruse stalls serving artisan food and drink, soundtracked by live entertainment programmed by Cadogan Hall. Family-friendly events in the afternoon will be coordinated by esteemed children’s entertainers Sharky & George, while Ham Polo Club will be on hand for those wishing to finesse their mallet swing.

Art Car Boot, Kings Cross (Sunday)
Browse and barter contemporary art this Sunday at the Art Car Boot, known as London’s coolest contemporary art fair. Held in Lewis Cubitt Square in King’s Cross, the event brings together more than 120 artists, which this year includes Marc Quinn, Ben Eine, Polly Morgan, Pam Hogg and Mat Collishaw. This year’s theme is LOVE and art of varying mediums will be supported by live entertainment, pop-up food and drink vendors and a hearty dose of summertime cheer.
