Hampton Court Palace Festival returns this month for two weeks of live entertainment from artists including Jools Holland and Kylie Minogue. King of disco Nile Rodgers and his band Chic take to the stage this weekend, to perform against the dramatic backdrop of the historic Tudor palace. Guests can pre-order a Fortnum & Mason picnic to enjoy prior to the performance, or tuck into one of the many street food options, served alongside lashings of PIAFF Champagne.

British Flowers Week, London (all week)

Founded by New Covent Garden Market, British Flowers Week boosts awareness of locally-grown, seasonal blooms. The Garden Museum is hosting a sensory exhibition to honour the occasion with five top London florists – including Worm and Bloom & Burn – coming together to showcase specially-curated pieces based on their earliest memories with flowers. The museum will also have floral workshops and late-openings during the week. The Royal Opera House is also celebrating with a floral makeover, alongside two pop-up shops, a flower-inspired menu and a selection of limited-edition floral products in the Royal Opera House shop.

James Bond Exhibition, Mayfair (from Tuesday)

Jack Barclay Bentley – the world’s oldest Bentley dealer – is hosting an exhibition of extremely rare Ian Fleming memorabilia, opening this weekend. The free event has been curated in partnership with Peter Harrington Rare Books and exhibits will include a first edition of the primary James Bond book, Casino Royale signed by the author himself and a corrected typescript of The Man with the Golden Gun. These will be joined by the first ever Bond cars, which include a Bentley 4.5-litre Blower and a Bentley Mark VI. This is a must-see exhibition for petrol-heads and fans of the super-spy alike.

London Seafood Festival, Battersea (from Wednesday)

London Seafood Festival returns this week for a four-day seafood extravaganza, held on the waterfront by Battersea Power Station. Ticketed events throughout the week include an oyster masterclass on the Thames, hosted by Wright Bros; a special sake tasting with Tonkotsu and watch aquatic-themed film screenings at Archlight Cinema. There will be plenty of seafood to get your claws into, including special dishes from Fiume and Cinnamon Kitchen, alongside live cookery demonstrations and live entertainment.

Harrods is hosting a watch weekender in Knightsbridge, offering customers unique access to some of the world’s most exclusive watch brands, while exploring the art and technical innovations of watchmaking. Exhibitions at Somerset House, Strand (from Wednesday)

Two new exhibitions celebrating British identity open at Somerset House this weekend. The new Get Up Stand Up Now exhibition celebrates the past 50 years of Black creativity in Britain and around the world, presenting new work from artists including Grace Wales Bonner and Steve McQueen. Meanwhile, Kaleidoscope explores identity and immigration in modern Britain, featuring photographic work by an array of artists including Teresa Eng and Kurt Tong.
