London Fashion Week AW23: On the FROW and inside the parties
Take your place on the FROW and step inside London Fashion Week's most fabulous parties
London Fashion Week returned to the capital for the AW23 season this week – bringing with it the usual carousel of shows, presentations, events and parties. Coinciding with the BAFTAs, the packed schedule also proved the perfect opportunity for stars of the screen to show off their stylish side.
Harris Reed kicked off proceedings with one of the most celebrity-studded events of the week. British actress Florence Pugh took to the runway at the Tate Modern in a show-stopping sequinned harlequin gown, while VIPs, including model Erin O’Connor and actress Jodie Turner-Smith, looked on.
Elsewhere, actresses Minnie Driver and Anna Schaffer were pretty as a picture in florals at Emilia Wickstead and Maya Jama was spotted sporting some serious shoulders at Richard Quinn’s secret garden-themed show, which was soundtracked by the English Chamber Orchestra and Gabrielle Aplin.
Model Richard Biedul and trainspotter-turned-national-treasure Francis Bourgeois headed to St John’s Smith Square to take in Paul & Joe’s AW23 collection, while Arlo Parks led the applause following Simone Rocha’s gorgeous show.
Up-and-coming designer Chet Lo attracted a crowd of industry and celebrity heavyweights for his Newgen-sponsored collection. British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful was joined on the front row by famous fans including Tom Daley and American rapper-singers Coi Leray and Ashnikko.
After dark, David Koma hosted the buzziest fashion week party in town at Sweeties at The Standard hotel in King’s Cross. Footballer Alex Scott joined models Alva Claire and Ikram Abdi Omar on the dance floor where a DJ set by Hale Zero kept the party going until the small hours.
