The best at-home and mobile beauty services in London
Open for essential health services and taking advance bookings for post-lockdown, put one of London’s top mobile beauty and concierge services on speed dial for top-to-toe styling in the comfort of your home, office, hotel or
Hankering after a hair cut? You’re not alone. Lockdown has thrown even the loosest of beauty regimens into disarray, leaving us to grapple with at-home hair cuts, makeshift manicures and, for the truly brave, bikini waxes in a box.
Hope, however, is on the horizon. Currently only able to offer essential wellness services, such as reflexology and sports massage, many of the capital’s best loved mobile and at-home beauty services are opening waiting lists and taking advance bookings for post-lockdown treatments, so you can be first in line when the time comes to properly pamper yourself again. Here are the names to have on speed dial now.
blow LTD
Billed as Uber for beauty, blow LTD is our go-to app for beauty treatments at finger-clicking speed. Appointments are available every day from 7am until 8pm, and for those feeling the aches and pains of working from home, a range of therapeutic deep tissue massages, reflexology and couples massages (a great Valentine’s Day treat) are currently on offer. Blow LTD is also taking advance bookings, starting from 9 March, for its full range of services, including waxing, manicures, facials, hair colour and more. If you’re in need of some real TLC book yourself in for the Full Works – a package including a manicure, pedicure, massage and lash tint and lift. You’ll feel like a new person in no time.
Beautii
Pre-pandemic, when not set up in your living room, Beautii’s technicians were frequenting film sets, fashion shows and five-star hotels catering to the grooming needs of the rich and famous. In line with government guidance, Beautii is currently only offering therapeutic massage, but it has also opened a waiting list for post-lockdown appointments that we highly recommend adding your name to now. After all, who wouldn’t want to be at the front of the queue for a hair cut, blow dry, manicure or facial from one of the capital’s most sought after beauty experts?
Secret Spa
Luxurious beauty concierge Secret Spa counts Vogue Williams, Lottie Moss and Pixie Lott among fans and, during lockdown, it has an extensive list of healthcare services available to book. Choose from IV drips to boost hydration and recovery from illness, deep tissue and sports massages for those who have been hitting the road while gyms are closed, or go for a top-to-toe health check from Secret Spa’s roster of qualified doctors. There’s no information yet on when Secret Spa will begin taking bookings again for its full span of beauty treatments, but be sure to have the service on your radar for everything from waxing and spray tans to manicures and Decléor facials.
Prettly
This nifty mobile beauty service is the brainchild of Rhea Papanicolaou-Frangista and Farrah Hamid. Prettly will pop up just about anywhere in London to tend to your tresses, nails, make-up and more and all therapists are vetted to ensure first-class, fabulous service. Prettly’s current offering includes relaxation, deep tissue and sports massages, as well as live online yoga and pilates classes and video make-up tutorials so you can recreate your favourite Prettly looks at home. Appointments can be booked one month in advance so the service isn’t yet taking post-pandemic appointments, but it’s definitely worth downloading the mobile app so you can be the first to know when it does.
Ruuby
If you lead a hectic life that requires access to the world’s most experienced beauty professionals at the drop of a hat, Ruuby is the at-home grooming service for you. Alongside its full complement of treatments, which includes Dr. Barbara Sturm facials and Shu Uemura blow dries, Ruuby’s Black Label subscription service promises 24/7 access to its best technicians. You can even take them on holiday with you should you wish. Right now Ruuby has a range of therapeutic treatments available, including massage, osteopathy and reflexology, with hopes to resume its full range of services from 9 March.
