From internationally renowned hotel brands to expanding London institutions, as well as some exclusive UK debuts, here’s our edit of the most exciting openings in the capital this year

If you’re visiting from overseas, out of town, or just fancy an indulgent couple of days weekending in the capital, it’s not exactly hard to find a stylish hotel to lay your head for the night. From artsy and boutique, to big, bold, and glossy, five-star hotels pepper London’s streets in every direction. From the West End to East, and everything in between, you’ll never be short of options. And the choice just got even harder, as 2024 sees even more top global hotel names join the club. Read on for the best new hotels in London to eat, sleep and party at in 2024.

Art’otel Hoxton

Following the unveiling of the hotly anticipated Art’otel London Battersea Power Station last year, Art’otel London Hoxton will officially open its doors this spring. Bold and daring, it champions the importance of art and design in hospitality, creating a new social hub for the city’s creative communities. With 357 guest bedrooms and suites, all with Instagram-worthy views, guests can expect an evolving immersive art gallery featuring exclusive exhibitions from the likes of D*Face, flexible event spaces including a 60-seat auditorium, destination bars and restaurants, an indoor swimming pool and spa – and a spectacular skyline gym. Located next to bustling Shoreditch, it will be disrupting the hotel scene immediately.

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

Set to open on Mayfair’s prestigious Hanover Square, you can be sure that Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will deliver all the glitz and glamour for which the luxury hotel group is renowned. Impeccably designed by architect Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, with interiors by Tokyo-based studio Curiosity and British designer Studio Indigo, the relatively intimate hotel boasts 50 chic rooms and suites. Guests will have access to a range of exclusive experiences, such as the first eponymous restaurant in the UK from Michelin-starred chef Akira Back, as well as his ABar Lounge, and a stunning rooftop terrace. The urban spa won’t disappoint either: with a focus on renewal and recalibration, you can expect indulgent treatments by Seed to Skin, Swiss Perfection and Oto CBD.

The Emory, Belgravia

From the hoteliers behind Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley, this new uber-luxe and superbly exclusive suite-only hotel will be sure to satisfy even the most discerning guests. Set in the heart of Belgravia, interiors are elevated and contemporary, with each space thoughtfully curated by a range of top designers including André Fu, Pierre Yves Rochon, Champalimaud Design, Rigby & Rigby, and Patricia Urquiola. Sure to make a splash on the restaurant scene, international hospitality group ABC Kitchens will introduce acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s signature cooking style to the UK for the very first time, with a menu bringing together flagship elements from a trio of Jean-Georges’ New York locations. Six Senses London, Bayswater

The debut UK property from another iconic luxury hotel brand, Six Senses London will be housed in the former Whiteleys department store in Bayswater. With 110 beautifully curated guest rooms and suites, there will also be 14 meticulously designed residences available to buy, too. The interiors bring to life the existing classical detailing with a stylish new twist, and are combined with a slew of contemporary British artwork peppered throughout the property. The subterranean Six Senses Spa will invoke the atmosphere of an old-fashioned London underground station, with highlights including a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, an Alchemy Bar, and a relaxation room with vaulted ceilings. The hotel will also feature an inviting lobby bar and lounge, as well as a chic all-day dining restaurant.

The Newman, Fitzrovia

Named for its Newman Street location in artsy Fitzrovia, The Newman will be the first hotel from new international hospitality management company Kinsfolk & Co. Fun, cool and contemporary, the hotel will feature 81 rooms and suites, as well as a European brasserie and cocktail bar. The eclectic-meets-Art Deco aesthetic is inspired by the area’s history and famous former residents, such as Nancy Cunard, once Fitzrovia's bohemian queen, whose signature bangles and polka dots subtly permeate the design narrative. The expansive, dedicated wellness floor embraces Nordic simplicity in its minimalist design and includes a range of hot and cold experience cabins, an active salt therapy room and a hydrotherapy pool. For residents and locals, the day spa offers top-notch treatment rooms and fitness services.

An expansive addition to the already bustling banks of the river Thames, this luxurious new Park Hyatt London property promises 203 stylish rooms and suites, including both ‘mega’ and presidential suites.
