The top restaurants on the White Isle for steak, sushi and seafood by the sea

Ibiza’s evolution from a late-night (early-morning, technically) party island to certified foodie destination means that visitors now flock to the White Isle as much for its culinary offering as its club scene. But with every cove, bay and stretch of sand now boasting some sort of beach restaurant, just how do you pick the right sea-side watering hole for you?

We asked Ibiza-based concierge and lifestyle service, Eden Events, for the lowdown on the island’s best beach restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a Mediterranean lunch with a view, or sushi under the stars, these are the top spots dragging visitors from the dance floor to the dinner table…

Aiyanna Ibiza

Location: Eivissa

Launched by the team behind island-favourite Amante, Aiyanna is pure Boho chic. Gorgeous sea views, paired with the natural style of the restaurant and gloriously colourful Guatemalan parasols shout fabulousness. Either lounge and sip on a cocktail or try its diverse menu, which takes in much of the Mediterranean. There’s more than enough to keep you satisfied until the sun goes down.

Alma Beach

Location: Port des Torrent

Located in the cove of Port des Torrent, Alma Beach Ibiza offers its customers three different restaurant proposals: Sunset, Embers and Wellness. All have a common denominator: their aim is to promote healthy gastronomy by using only top-quality ingredients. This charming place is a perfect spot to eat or drink while enjoying spectacular sunsets and live music.

Amante Ibiza

Location: Cala Llonga

Inhabiting a cove all of its own, Amante boasts not just one of the best beach restaurant settings in Ibiza, but surely anywhere on the planet. By day the restaurant offers luxury day beds before turning into the perfect evening location for a romantic dinner. Serving super fresh and vibrant Mediterranean food, its multi-level restaurant allows you many ways to enjoy the breathtaking views as you listen to the waves crash against the sand below.

Atzaró Beach

Location: Cala Nova

A beach club with an authentic Ibizan personality. Located in the majestic Cala Nova bay, Atzaró has a casual restaurant where you can eat from the comfort of your sunbed or with your feet on the sand, as you enjoy a beautiful view over one of the island’s most amazing beaches. The restaurant serves a selection of healthy dishes and a vast range of Mediterranean specialities with a subtle fusion twist. Here, visitors can enjoy an informal and relaxed atmosphere, and a restaurant in complete harmony with its natural surroundings.

Beachouse Ibiza

Location: Playa d’en Bossa

Beachouse is found at the quieter end of Playa d’en Bossa beach. Here, it’s possible to imagine being transported to a very cool spot in the Caribbean. Like the venue, the cuisine is rustic, yet sophisticated: Mediterranean fare with a dash of Italian. You’ll enjoy its small-scale intimacy, clean lines and general airiness.

Cala Bassa Beach Club

Location: Cala Bassa

Balinese beds with sea views await you at Cala Bassa beach club, an oasis of calm that invites you to relax to chilled-out house music and the sound of waves lapping against sand. The restaurant is mainly dedicated to Mediterranean haute cuisine. Located on one of the most enchanting coves on the west coast of Ibiza, Cala Bassa beach club is one for all audiences.

Cala Gracioneta

Location: San Antonio

Overlooking one of the cutest coves in San Antonio Bay, the restaurant at Cala Gracioneta has some excellent multi-level dining spaces, as well as four-poster beds on the beautiful, compact beach. Its menu has many sharing options with dishes that shout freshness and originality. This place is ideal for sipping sangria and living la dolce vita. Our tip? Opt for one of the paellas.

Chambao at Nobu Ibiza Bay

Location: Cala Talamanca

Part of Nobu Ibiza Bay, a visit to Chambao comes with certain expectations. This beachfront chiringuito is, after all, bought to you by one of the biggest global gastronomic success stories of the past 30 years. It doesn’t disappoint. Nobu Ibiza has carved a reputation as one of the most sophisticated hotels on the island, and, appropriately, design-led Chambao is a chic, intimate affair which spills out from a clean, whitewashed restaurant onto the sand. Highlights from a menu dedicated to fresh seafood and plenty of sharing plates include grilled octopus and Valencian paella.

Chiringuito Blue Ibiza

Location: Santa Eulalia

For a genuine beach-restaurant experience, head to Chiringuito Blue. You’ll encounter this chic rustic restaurant, nestled at the edge of the sand. Here, you can dine in style on dishes made from hyper-local ingredients in the cool white surroundings, illuminated by the colour blue.

Cotton Beach Club Ibiza

Location: Cala Tarida

Set on the cliffs overlooking Cala Tarida, this beach restaurant is a chic venue with characteristic White Isle style. From the beach, a flight of stairs leads you up to the popular terrace restaurant which enjoys spectacular views over the Balearic Sea. Mediterranean and Asian fusion cuisine feature on the menu, including some spectacular sushi. As the sun goes down, sit back with a signature Cotton Island cocktail and unwind to the laid-back rhythms courtesy of the house DJ.

El Chiringuito Ibiza

Location: Playa des Cavallet

A gem of a venue nestled neatly among the natural beauty of the Salinas salt flats. You can relax with views of the sea in front of you, Dalt Vila to the left, and the stunning island of Formentera to the right. Even the drive through the salt flats of Salinas is part of the experience. The excellent on-site restaurant offers menus from breakfast to lunch to late-night snacks, with produce carefully prepared and locally sourced.

Tropicana Ibiza Cala Jondal

Location: Cala Jondal

Tropicana on Cala Jonda beach is more low-key than some of its neighbours and incredibly friendly. With a great ambience and a varied menu of Mediterranean, international and local specialities, appetites are easily satisfied. Book a hammock to throw yourself into, enjoy one of their comfortable sunbeds or laze on the very pretty semi-private beach.
