Celebrate the Victorian carnival era with a new limited-edition tipple that will be served across Mr Fogg's bars in London this month

There are two types of cocktail bars in London: the ones where you just sit back and enjoy a delectable low-key tipple, or the ones that offer an immersive experience. If you’re looking for the latter, you’ll be in good hands at Mr Fogg’s. The collection of 10-strong Mr Fogg’s bars span Soho to The City, and all transport guests back to the Victorian era as they step into the unique world of imaginary explorer Phileas Fogg and his life traversing the globe.

The Fitzrovia-based House of Botanicals, for example, is more akin to a glorious greenhouse than a bar, filled with herbaceous plants and unique flora which provide the perfect backdrop for any sophisticated cocktail soirée. Head to Covent Garden, home to three unique Mr Fogg’s bars, and you’ll find the Gin Parlour on New Row, where the imaginary Mr Fogg decided to showcase his selection of more than 200 wondrous gins collected during his global adventures. And, it’s here that we found our latest cocktail recipe.

This month, the Gin Parlour will serve a new Victorian Carnival cocktail menu, bringing to life the rich ensemble of bright flavours of Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret, providing perfect potations to toast the longer days and the hope of warmer temperatures. To coincide with the menu, a parade, taking over the streets of Covent Garden, featuring Penny Farthings, actors and circus acts will be held on 16 May.

One tipple that stood out to us was the Burlesque Soirée. Simone Spagnoli, head of bars at Mr Fogg’s, explains: “[This cocktail] is a tribute to the great British summertime, with its combination of fresh cucumber and strawberry. Leading with the bright stone fruit of Hendrick’s new Grand Cabaret Gin alongside the bright and zesty Acqua di Cedro liqueur, this is the ideal summer sipper.” Discover the recipe below.
