What makes a scent truly great is its power to conjure emotions, evoke memories and transport you. Molton Brown’s new Wild Mint & Lavandin scent does all of those things. The newest addition to the brand’s fragrance portfolio, the scent is designed to whisk you away to the sweeping forests of Provence.
Senior perfumer Nathalie Koobus drew inspiration from her home turf for the collection: “I wanted to capture the forest walks in my home of Provence, where nature’s invigorating air of verdant herbaceous shrubs is edged by purple fields of lavandin [a more powerful, greener variety of lavender].” Crisp and refined, this fougère aroma is a more grounded companion to Molton Brown’s bestselling Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel collection, which is itself inspired by marine life.
The collection will feature an Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and a Bath & Shower Gel, in addition to a travel vial of the Eau de Parfum (which we highly recommend pairing with the separate travel case). The Eau de Parfum draws its signature note from creamy nutmeg, which acts as a warm balance to tonic mint, leaving a deeply sophisticated impression.
The Eau de Toilette, on the other hand, layers wild mint and basil with the distinctive scent of lavandin. In an inspired twist, the scent also features unexpected hints of orris root against rich sandalwood and tonka bean.
Honoured with a Royal Warrant from Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Molton Brown produces its products in a carbon-neutral facility in Hertfordshire. Apart from being proudly local, sustainability is also a key part of the brand’s DNA. The key ingredient of the Wild Mint & Lavandin scent, lavandin oil, is sustainably sourced from Provence where local farmers use innovative harvesting techniques to reduce water usage, benefit long-term land biodiversity, and improve overall community welfare. In a further effort to reduce waste, Molton Brown produces its plastic bottles from 50 per cent recycled plastic. There’s also Molton Brown’s ‘Return. Recycle. Reward’ scheme, which awards customers bringing in empty product bottles with a 10 per cent discount.
