Bee Goddess opens a permanent home for its feel-good talismanic treasures on Walton Street in Chelsea

The serpent is symbolic of fertility and rebirth; the star is synonymous with infinite love and the ladybug brings good luck.

These are just a few of the spiritual emblems that make up Bee Goddess, the fine jewellery brand founded by Turkish-born Ece Sirin. Her contemporary talismans and amulets draw on mythological and sacred symbols and what she refers to as the ‘goddess philosophy’, while devotees include Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Beyoncé and Madonna.

Following a successful concession at Harrods, the jeweller has opened her first London flagship in Chelsea on the ever-charming Walton Street. With a striking red and black palette, this bijou boutique houses the entire Bee Goddess collection of joyful jewels, spanning sinuous arrows and shooting stars, crafted in 18-carat gold. Some have a refined, rock ‘n’ roll edge – like the jagged sword, synonymous with protection and a sharp mind, while the brand’s signature bee evokes abundance and beauty.

Sirin also seriously knows her stuff. She spent years immersed in the enduring power of symbolism prior to launching Bee Goddess and will promptly point out the emblematic difference between a five and a seven-point star, or why wheat brings prosperity (it derives from Demeter, the goddess of harvest). “While Bee Goddess was born in Turkey, it really launched in London and it’s wonderful to finally have a home that truly reflects our brand,” she comments. “The symbol of Britain is the Goddess Brigantia, did you know that?” Ashamedly, I didn’t.

Sirin is also a respected spiritual life coach and one-to-one sessions can now be booked at the Walton Street boutique, which take place in an intimate, private room. “I don’t want to create superficial jewellery. It is not a status symbol, but rather a symbol of the soul – your soul, and nobody else’s.’’
