If you’re spending a long summer day in one of central London’s chicest neighbourhoods, you’ll more than likely find yourself browsing glitzy clothing edits, luxurious beauty brands, and scrumptious food and wine at Harvey Nichols. The ritzy Knightsbridge store may be best known for its enticing fashion and beauty departments, but, this summer, it’s one of our favourite fine dining destinations, too.
The Fifth Floor of the iconic store houses a variety of restaurants and bars that cater to every taste – and this season there are some truly delectable new summer offerings. So whether you’re keen to impress a date, celebrate a special occasion, or just raise a toast to the spell of good weather, here’s why you should book a table at Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor.
Discover Puerto Rico Terrace
There’s nothing quite as magical as al fresco dining in the summer, except, perhaps, outdoor dining with a Caribbean touch. Experience a tropical outdoor summer at the Fifth Floor Terrace this July and August. The new terrace takeover, in partnership with Discover Puerto Rico, is infused with island-inspired décor, including native flowers and vibrant colours, creating a Caribbean haven high above the bustling heart of London.
Indulge in the Boricua spirit with Puerto Rican culinary classics by chef Antonio Pérez, alongside an exclusive cocktail menu curated by Puerto Rico’s famous rum house, Casa BACARDÍ. Sip on Mojitos, BACARDÍ Piña Coladas and a Rum Fashioned on the sun-filled terrace, transporting you to the island of Puerto Rico.
Fifth Floor Café and Terrace
Looking for a decadent meal on a leisurely afternoon? The Fifth Floor Café and Terrace is offering a vibrant new Summer Dining three-course menu designed to celebrate the best seasonal produce and bold Southeast Asian flavours.
Start with a glass of crisp Cloudy Bay Pelorus Rosé or Brut courtesy of the restaurant’s partnership with the New Zealand winery before diving into pan-fried salmon with heritage beans or an indulgent buttermilk crispy chicken with cornbread and a truffle sriracha sauce. Every dessert is a superstar, but we especially love the burned vanilla cheesecake topped with roasted peach sauce and the blueberry and lemon curd tartlet with a mint meringue crisp.
While the three-course menu is tempting, the airy Fifth Floor Café and Terrace is also perfect for a quick bite to bookend your shopping trip. The Fifth Floor Café and Terrace’s new seasonal offerings extend to its All-Day Dining, Brunch, and Luxury Afternoon Tea menus. With breezy summer options like a Greek watermelon salad with crispy shallots and feta, pan-fried sea bass in tamarind lime vinaigrette, and a delectable chocolate and pecan brownie with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce, make sure to bookmark the Fifth Floor Café and Terrace as your go-to dining option in Knightsbridge this summer.
Bring the family along for a delicious summer lunch as well, as Kids Eat Free on Sundays. Options for the little ones are just as enticing, with dishes like linguine in tomato soup topped with parmesan, low-gluten fish and chips, chicken burgers with lettuce and chunky golden chips.
Fifth Floor Bar
If you’re looking to drop in for drinks, the Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Bar offers an elevated (literally) experience. No summer evening is complete without a spritz — choose from classic cocktails such as Aperol Spritz or something new like the Sparkling Raspberry Negroni. Not looking to indulge in alcohol? The Fever-Tree Sicilian Lemonade and Crodino Spritz are tempting options. Salud!
Each spritz is paired with a light bite of your choice, including Padron peppers tossed with crispy shallots and sea salt or potato puffs with jalapeno and baconnaise, or truffle mayonnaise. The exclusive menu is available until the end of August for £19 or £13 with a non-alcoholic option.
Fifth Floor Restaurants
Planning to stop in multiple times this summer? The Harvey Nichols dining experience extends far beyond its own delectable eateries to include outposts of some of the world’s most loved restaurants. Lucarelli Restaurant is a slice of Italian heaven, serving traditional cuisine with a new Summer Menu that’s been crafted with fresh produce. The restaurant will also be offering complimentary gelato for kids until September, making it a great family option.
The revamped Burger & Lobster restaurant has some alluring summer options, including a lobster and prawn cocktail and a strawberries and cream cocktail. If you’re looking for a reliable and hearty meal, Zelman Meats offers the Zelman Meat Plate featuring every one of its mouth-watering meat with sides to share with friends. Meanwhile, Madhu’s Brasserie is the perfect intimate dining spot to explore contemporary twists on signature Punjabi and Kenyan dishes.
