Cloud Twelve: A New Kid-Friendly Members’ Club in Notting Hill
Never before in London has a holistic spa and wellness clinic sat under the same roof as a crèche and interactive kids’ zone. Welcome to Cloud Twelve
Changes are afoot in Notting Hill. Parisian cult e-tailer Sézane opened its first European bricks-and-mortar boutique on Westbourne Grove earlier this year, followed by the divisive launch of Goop across the road.
Another headline-grabbing opening is the launch of Cloud Twelve, a new family members’ club with a holistic twist. Housed in the former Museum of Brands building on an idyllic mews street, Cloud Twelve offers three floors of lifestyle and wellness offerings for adults and children alike. It is the brainchild of Jenya Emets, a former funds manager-turned-trained naturopath and herbalist.
Emets previously lived in Japan, where therapeutic spa treatments are de rigueur for professional women. “I wanted to recreate a spa on the same level that it is done in Asia. It then naturally evolved to include a wellness clinic, brasserie, salon and family space.”
Interiors at Cloud Twelve have a modern, oriental flavour, distilled by Melt Design Hub. Everything has been created with a commitment to sustainability, including the toxin-free salon and plant-based brasserie, guided by Stu Henshall of The Alternative Kitchen catering company.
“I am very passionate and proud that sustainability is a cornerstone of Cloud Twelve philosophy,” continues Emets. “We have developed to the best of our ability an organic, eco-friendly environment, paying attention not just to what we eat and drink, but also to what we breathe, touch and walk on and how much waste we generate.”
Membership at Cloud Twelve means you no longer need to decide between a manicure or soft play. While parents unwind in an eight-seat salon or one of five wellness rooms (more on that below), children can enjoy ballet or cookery classes, alongside a state-of-the-art, interactive soft play area that excites adults as much as their offspring. The children’s area also has a parent’s lounge with a licenced bar because, as general manager Zhenya Rudman rightly points out – “sometimes, as a parent, you just need a wine.”
In the Wellness Clinic, expert practitioners combine traditional Chinese medicine and natural therapies with modern science, specialising in osteopathy, acupuncture, reflexology and craniosacral therapy. There is also a cryotherapy chamber, while treatment rooms feel chic and homely. “With so many different concepts on offer in natural skincare and alternative medicine, consumers can get lost,” comments Emets “At Cloud Twelve, we can offer informed advice on all aspects of wellness or natural beauty within a relaxing environment.”
Meanwhile, the second-floor spa is a mecca of state-of-the-art serenity and indulgence, with a Himalayan room and Dolomites quartz beds (pictured below). Treatments use cruelty-free, natural brands including Nailberry and The Organic Pharmacy.
In an age where parents are expected to nurture their children’s development and wellbeing, while also being perfectly presented and socially available, Cloud Twelve is a modern answer. It also offers vast space and an abundance of children’s toys and entertainment in a city where each square foot is precious.
“As a busy professional living in London, I have always struggled to tick all of the boxes. I hope that at Cloud Twelve, we can help our clients to get closer to achieving their wellness and lifestyle goals by spending quality time with their friends and family and looking after their stress levels and overall health in a more consistent way.”
Individual membership starts at £1,200 per year; family membership from £2,000 per year; the spa and wellness clinic are also available to non-members
