Smell wonderful this Christmas with these notable olfactory offerings, from trailblazing eco-conscious brands to Celine's debut Haute Parfumerie collection

Sana Jardin Fragrance

Sana Jardin is the beauty world’s first fully conscious luxury fragrance house, which is topping our Christmas wishlist this year. Founded by Amy Christiansen Si-Ahmed, Sana Jardin provides opportunities for low-income women in Morocco through commerce as opposed to charity, by providing the tools to upcycle floral waste and source essential oils. Each fragrance is alluring, long-lasting and beautifully packaged. Revolution De La Fleur is described as ‘friendship in a bottle’, while Berber Blonde is a sublimely sunny, floral scent.

Celine Haute Parfumerie by Hedi Slimane

Under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane, Celine has launched its first fragrance collection in 50 years. The inaugural ‘Haute Parfumerie’ collection comprises 11 evocative scents, each of which draws influence from a specific moment in Slimane’s life. Several fragrances touch on the city of Paris, while Eau de Californie is an ode to California and LA, where he lived for a decade before returning to the French capital last year. A new standalone boutique on Paris’s historic Rue Saint-Honoré has also opened, dedicated to the new olfactory collection. Our favourite? La Peau Nue, inspired by Catherine Deneuve films from the sixties and late nights spent in the legendary Bains Douches nightclub.

Penhaligon’s Portrait Collection

Penhaligon’s and Christmas go hand-in-hand. The Penhaligon’s Portraits collection draws on the centuries-old perfumer’s aristocratic British roots and is made up of an ever-growing cast of characters including Lady Blanche, the high society wife of Lord George, and their daughter, Rose, who marries a Duke to escape the rigid constraints of her family. The latest characters to join this madcap scent set is Terrible Teddy, an irresistible rogue made up of leather and incense with a sweet amber twist. The subject of Teddy’s affections? Heartless Helen: a fearless, feminine blend of mandarin, pink peppercorn and jasmine.
