Whether you like to celebrate Valentine’s Day in extravagant style or prefer a subtle but sophisticated nod to the occasion, London’s top hotels are pulling out all the stops on 14 February and beyond. These are the best hotels in London to book for a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway.

Celebrate love amid the hustle and bustle of the city’s skyscrapers at Pan Pacific London this Valentine’s Day. Minutes from Liverpool Street Station and within easy reach of the capital’s main attractions, including West End shows and shopping on Oxford Street, make a proper occasion of it with 15 per cent off weekend stays, including a complimentary cocktail at the Ginger Lily bar, breakfast at Straits Kitchen and access to the hotel’s vast Sensory Spa & Wellbeing floor.

In honour of Valentine’s Day, Straits Kitchen’s executive chef Adam Bateman has also devised a special five-course menu of delectable South East Asian-inspired dishes, priced at £79 per person. Start with a welcome glass of Taittinger Brut Réserve before tucking into parsnip and curried laksa veloute, beetroot-cured salmon gravlax with pickled cucumber, pan-fried Orkney scallops with satay sauce, and a dry-aged sirloin with mac and cheese and truffle jus. Finish with an indulgent dessert of roasted matcha mousse with strawberry vanilla consomme, while a vegan alternative is also available.

Conrad London, St James’s

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Conrad London St James’s, where chef Daniel Wisner has devised a playful The Pem in Bed menu that takes room service to a whole new level. Available in the evenings only, and available as two- or three-course options, choose from baked beetroot tartare or glazed veal sweetbread to start, followed by mains of baked celeriac with Tunworth cheese, halibut loin with citrus and golden beetroot, or Lake District sirloin with pomme Anna. Desserts come in the form of rum baba with coffee gel, mulled wine poached pear with crème fraîche, or lemon meringue with yoghurt sorbet, with every course delivered right to your room and with optional wine pairings available.

The Beaumont, Mayfair

This Valentine’s Day, step into the glamour of 1920s Art Deco at The Beaumont. Renowned for its glamorous interiors, exceptional dining, and impeccable service, the five-star property overlooking Brown Hart gardens features an array of light-filled, comfortable suites, as well as a small but perfectly formed subterranean spa, which invites couples to unwind in style on 14 February and beyond.

Available for both hotel guests and visitors, on 13 and 14 February The Beaumont’s flagship restaurant, Rosi, will be offering a romantic five-course set menu created by chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen. Priced at £95 per person and promising modern twists on British classics, menu highlights include duck liver parfait, salmon tartare, Cornish lobster linguine, and rhubarb and custard baked Alaska.

The Mandrake, Fitzrovia

Fitzrovia’s darkly glamorous hotel, The Mandrake, will be marking Valentine’s Day with an ode to the classic love stories of ’90s cinema. Cupid Kills: A 90s Valentine’s is an immersive dining experience hosted at the hotel’s YOPO restaurant, complete with live performances, vintage film projections, and a five-course tasting menu. Priced at £299 per person for dinner, or £999 for two people with an overnight stay, the evening begins with a welcome champagne cocktail, before a feast of sharing mains, indulgent desserts, and sophisticated serves, all accompanied by a hearty dose of silver screen glamour.

The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair

Mayfair's newest luxury hotel, The Chancery Rosewood, will be offering a host of special menus across its restaurants and bars this Valentine's Day. Serra (pictured) will be offering a one-night-only sharing menu priced at £90 per person and promising fried oysters with Franciacorta and caviar, burrata with olives and fig tapenade, white truffle linguine and whole grilled lemon sole.

Also available only on 14 February, fine dining restaurant Tobi Masa is offering an upscale special menu priced at £285 per person, with an optional £180 wine pairing. Expect only the best of the best, with the menu featuring poached lobster with bisque mayonnaise, toro tarate with caviar, kanpachi with truffle potato julienne, scallop and squid with jalapeño and coriander, a selection of nigiri and sashimi, and truffle ice cream.

Finally, if you're loooking for a daytime celebration, from 13-15 February, elegant bar and all-day dining spot Jacqueline will be replacing its usual afternoon tea with a special romantic edition. Priced at £110 per person, including a welcome drink, a classic selection of seasonal sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and refined pastries will be joined by a heart-shaped Valentine's cake to share. All menus are, of course, best paired with a lavish room or suite for the night.

Bankside Hotel, Southbank

Looking to put a moe creative twist on Valentine’s Day, design-focused Bankside Hotel has created a SweetArts package complete with all the celebration essentials. Enjoy a complimentary bottle of prosecco (or Nosecco), a welcome cocktail, breakfast in bed (or in the Art Yard Kitchen restaurant) and an overnight stay in one of the hotel's luxurious room. Book a room on 14 February to indulge in the flagship restaurant's signaure Asian-inflected menu of tom yum seabass, dim sum and cheesecake — best enjoyed in the gorgeous Whistler-inspired Arts & Crafts dining room — before heading down to the bar, where a Parisian chic dress code, house DJs and plush velvet booths set the atmosphere for an unforgettable evening.

St. Pancras London, King’s Cross

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in the 19th-century gothic St. Pancras London. With a host of offerings across its rooms, restaurants and spa, opt for relaxation with the Garden Serenity package (£260 per person), designed for two people and including salt scrubs, massages and facials in a couple's treatment room, along with four hours of spa access. For those who want to extend their visit, follow with a decadent four-course dinner at Booking Office 1869 (£95 per person), featuring dishes like beef tartatre, Cornish sea bass and white chocolate and strawberry mousse, set against the hotel’s breathtaking period surrounds, which were once the ticket office for St Pancras Station.
