Whether you like to celebrate Valentine’s Day in extravagant style or prefer a subtle but sophisticated nod to the occasion, London’s top hotels are pulling out all the stops on 14 February and beyond. These are the best hotels in London to book for a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway.

Conrad London, St James’s

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at The Pem, where chef Sally Abé’s seven-course menu is paired with an effortlessly romantic setting within Conrad St James’s. Decorated in soft blush tones and warm lighting, the new menu is available from 13-15 February and utilises seasonal British ingredients to form plates of 45-day-aged beef tartare with cured egg yolk and crispy pink fir potatoes, hand-dived Orkney scallops with cauliflower mushroom and crispy chicken skin and Guanaja chocolate crémeux with blood orange and Maldon sea salt. For those who prefer afternoon tea, the talented pastry chefs in the Royal Lancaster kitchens have crafted an experience perfect for sharing with someone you love, with a delightful assortment of sandwiches, freshly-baked scones, and sweet treats paired with fine teas from Camellia’s Tea House.

St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, King’s Cross

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in the 19th-century gothic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.
