From Six Senses’ debut in the capital to Rosewood’s highly-anticipated second act, here are the freshest luxury London hotels to book this year

Being home to 75 five-star hotels and counting, London is no stranger to luxury travel. But – as ever in the world of hospitality – a new year heralds the arrival of some seriously exciting new openings, including hotels which have been in the works for nearly a decade. 2025 will see the Rosewood reimagine a former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square while Six Senses will make its first foray into the UK market with an all-singing, all-dancing hotel and private members’ club in the up-and-coming Queensway neighbourhood. Plus, don’t miss boutique boltholes courtesy of The Zetter, Montcalm and The Other House too. Fancy going inside the best new hotels opening in London in 2025? Step right this way.

Montcalm, Mayfair

Montcalm will emerge from its top-to-toe renovation this spring, bringing the Georgian flagship hotel back to life by introducing ‘sensitive luxury’ to London’s hotel-scape. Situated on a historic crescent at the top of Park Lane, steps from Hyde Park and the West End, expect 150 refreshed rooms and suites, a new wellness space and acclaimed restaurant, all designed by architect Holland Harvey and interior designers Studio Mica and Studio Est. One of three signature residences, book the Botanical Suite to benefit from your own exclusive entrance on Berkeley Street, as well as Frette bed linens and amenities by Penhaligon’s.

Room rate: From £420 per night

Templeton Garden, Earl’s Court

Templeton Garden, Earl’s Court

The latest property from lifestyle brand, Miiro, Templeton Garden will open its doors in April to offer a peaceful oasis in the cosmopolitan capital. The 156-room property is situated in leafy Earl’s Court – once home to writers Beatrix Potter and Agatha Christie – which has now evolved into one of the capital’s most well-connected hubs. Inside the hotel, expect a café-meets-deli for light bites on the go, a modern British restaurant serving a delectable a la carte menu, gorgeous cocktail bar, and 24-hour gym in addition to a Refresh Room: a Miiro signature feature which ensures guests have everything they need before check-in or after check-out, including stylish changing rooms, showers, and toiletries for a spruce-up before hitting the town. In keeping with the area’s local flora, a beautiful garden sits at the heart of the hotel, where contemporary design meets English elegance.

Opening date: April 2025

The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair

The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair

Located in the heart of Mayfair – just half an hour from Rosewood's existing London outpost in Holborn – The Chancery Rosewood is the hotel group’s highly-anticipated second act, finally coming to fruition after spades first hit the ground in Grosvenor Square back in 2017. Balancing the rich history of the former US Embassy with contemporary comforts, the hotel has been created under the guise of British architect Sir David Chipperfield with interiors by French architect Joseph Dirand. Expect 144 guestrooms and suites, as well as a Yabu Pushelberg-designed spa, five retail outlets, and a selection of meeting and events spaces including a state-of-the-art ballroom. Rumour also has it that the hotel is tapping into the culinary nous of Caprice Holdings – of Sexy Fish and Scott’s fame – and New York favourite Carbone for its restaurant offerings. The Chancery Rosewood is one of a handful of properties opening within the Rosewood portfolio this year, ranging from Japan to Amsterdam, so it’s safe to say the brand is planning on making a lasting impression on the luxury hotel market in 2025.

Six Senses London, Queensway

Marking Six Senses’ first foray into the UK market, its new London hotel promises to offer both a social epicentre and escape at The Whiteley. Occupying an entire block on Queensway, The Whiteley development is a complete reimagining of the former department store, a stone’s throw from Hyde Park. Poised to become the capital’s greatest residential and hospitality address, Six Senses London will feature 109 rooms and 14 branded residences.

The Six Senses Spa will play an integral part in the hotel’s offering. In a space reminiscent of an old-fashioned London underground station, the spa journey will mirror the different energies of city life, from the sensory stimulation and movement of the street to the stillness and calm of a quiet café or park. Highlights include a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, a biohacking recovery lounge, an Alchemy Bar and a relaxation room with vaulted ceilings. The opening will also mark the launch of Six Senses Place, a new private member’s club where wellness, community and celebration combine, offering exclusive bars and lounges, co-working spaces and a restaurant. Initially slated to open in 2023, it’s safe to say we’re expecting big things from this one.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed into the Sitting Room, the hotel’s cosy bar area where cocktails await, while food will be served at the Larder, which is also home to a private dining area for up to 40 people.
