Patrick Huges Retrospective at Bel Air Fine Art, Mayfair

To coincide with his 80th birthday, pop art legend Patrick Hughes is presenting a month-long solo exhibition at Bel Air Fine Art in Mayfair. The retrospective showcases early work, including a graduate piece once owned by David Bowie, alongside new work in his signature ‘reverspective’ style. Be uplifted by the surrealist rainbow room, where cascading arches of colour spill from crescent moons and are juxtapositioned against Mondrian’s abstract grids.

Enchanted Woodland Illuminated Walk at Syon Park (from Friday)

Located in the grounds of Syon House, Syon Park’s historic 600-year-old gardens are once again aglow this weekend for the ultimate winter walk. The gardens, boasting an impressive array of more than than 400 species of trees, are transformed by resplendent coloured lights for an utterly enchanting experience, that lead you through the grounds along the lake towards the grand Great Conservatory, where the magical trail ends. So, wrap up warm this weekend and head to Syon Park for a walk that will calm even the most frantic minds.

Pop-up Ginema at Hayman’s Gin Distillery, Balham (all weekend)

The ultimate entertainment for movie and gin lovers is set to be provided at Hayman’s Gin Distillery this weekend in their aptly named Ginema, the pop-up which combines both gin and classic films. The pop-up cinema in the Balham distillery is screening a selection of blockbusters over the weekend including Dirty Dancing and Labyrinth on Saturday, and The Greatest Showman followed by When Harry Met Sally on Sunday. Unwind on a giant beanbag while enjoying themed gin cocktails and indulgent treats – sounds pretty perfect, right?

Wimbledon Art Fair (From Thursday 14th), Wimbledon

Wimbledon Art Studios is opening its doors this weekend to showcase works by 150 of London’s artists and craft makers. Highlights include an Edible Art Studio created by cake-maker to the Queen and sugar artist, Jacqui Kelly, where edible sculptures of pop-culture characters will be displayed. Inspired by her exotic travels, Daphne Stephenson will be presenting her botanical textiles and wildlife paintings in a jungle-themed studio while Christine O’Brien will display her game-inspired jewellery in an immersive games-room studio where you will be encouraged to explore and play. As well as enjoying the experiences on offer, there will be opportunities to purchase pieces directly from the artists and craft-makers themselves who will be present throughout the fair.
