Kensington and Chelsea Art Weekend

Surround yourself with art and design this weekend at the Kensington and Chelsea Art Weekend. Celebrating the rich heritage of the borough, more than 60 local creative spaces and renowned institutions are involved in the event, including Saatchi Gallery, Kensington Central Library and the Design Museum. Festivities include late night openings, creative workshops, live music and studio tours. Look out for the public photographic installation in Sloane Square by British artist Terry O’Neill. An unmissable event for budding Picassos, future Da Vincis and all those who love art, culture and a great day out.

Summer Screen, Television Centre

Summer Screen is a new 12-week programme of alfresco art, culture and sport taking place at the former home of the BBC Television Studios in White City. Curated by Electric Cinema, Saturday will show Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri on large outdoor screens, alongside footage of the Tour de France throughout the weekend.

The Beautiful Allotment, Shoreditch

The Beautiful Allotment is a charming new al fresco drinking and dining space at the Geffrye Museum on Kingsland Road, brought to you by the team behind Bournes & Hollingsworth. Set on the Victorian gardens of the museum, guests can frolic amongst palms and potting sheds while enjoying sustainable cocktails and sharing platters, made with ingredients grown onsite. Dead Quiet, Immersive Theatre

This Saturday, put on your detective hat and head to the Dead Quiet immersive theatre experience. The site-specific thriller is inspired by classic sixties spy books and historical fact, held in the Kensington Central Library. Led by master of the supernatural, Jack Daw, visitors are split into groups of five or six to help solve the mystery of a man who died in the archives of the library in 1962. Expect an exhilarating evening, rife with surprises and suspicion.

Backyard Cinema’s Mission to Mars

This weekend, embark on a cinematic experience that’s out of this world at the Mercato Metropolitano in Borough. The latest installment of Backyard Cinema presents Mission to Mars, showing a roster of popular space-themed films. On arrival, visitors are escorted through intergalactic security before boarding a spacecraft lined with beanbags. Film screenings this weekend include E.T. and Guardians of the Galaxy, accompanied by sci-fi cocktails and projections of the Milky Way.

Jam Shed Supper Club, Southbank Centre

The Jam Shed Supper Club is a new weekly dining experience held on the rooftop of the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank. This Saturday, MasterChef alumni Steve Kielty will be helming the stove, with highlights including BBQ, sticky, ‘Jam Shed’ glazed dry-aged Herefordshire brisket and BBQ celery root cooked in chilli butter corn relish. Sharing dishes are served at long communal tables for a sociable evening of fine fare and conversation, accompanied by music and iconic views of London.

Nashville Meets London

Don your best cowboy boots this weekend and head to Canary Wharf for the Nashville Meets London country music festival in Canada Square Park.
