National Curry Week, across London (all week)

Foodies, roll up: it’s National Curry Week. Indian restaurants across London are celebrating with special offers and exclusive dishes, including a sizzling three-course feast at The Curry Room, housed at The Rubens at The Palace in Belgravia, a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace. Elsewhere, Gunpowder by Spitalfields Market offers a cosy evening of rustic Indian dishes, with a wealth of vegetarian options. Alternatively, try a Sri Lankan sweet potato and green bean curry at vegetarian stalwart Mildreds in Soho or head to Tamarind Kitchen (pictured above), a laidback offshoot of the Michelin-starred Tamarind in Mayfair.

RHS Urban Flower Show, Westminster (all weekend)

The Royal Horticultural Society – the world’s leading garden charity – presents a flower show for city dwellers this weekend. The Urban Garden Show aims to inspire visitors to transform small urban spaces with plants, be it a balcony, windowsill or homely corner. Peckham’s popular Green Rooms Botanical Market is relocating to Westminster for the weekend to join the show, while Bompas and Parr is creating an immersive sensory experience curiously coined the ‘Garden of Darkness.’ The event kicks off this Friday with an RHS Late party on Friday 26 October (5pm-9pm, tickets £5).

Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross (all weekend)

Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross’ newest shopping and restaurant district, opens this Friday. Adjacent to Regents Canal and designed by Heatherwick Studios, it is home to more than 50 stores, cafes and restaurants, including Tom Dixon, Cubitts, Paul Smith and The Drop, a new wine bar from the team behind Barrafina. Alongside culinary and retail offerings, it will host exhibitions, creative installations and late-night events.

André Brasiler Exhibition, Mayfair (all weekend)

Head to the Opera Gallery in Mayfair this weekend to enjoy an extensive and vibrant showcase of work by French artist André Brasilier. A selection of Brasiler’s most iconic paintings from the last six decades will be on display for three weeks at the contemporary art gallery. Look out for reoccurring motifs including galloping horses and his wife, Chantal, who inspires the majority of his work.

Sunday Feasts at Meraki, Fitzrovia (Sunday)

Meraki, the contemporary Greek restaurant in Fitzrovia, is launching its Sunday Feasts this weekend. Every Sunday, the year-old restaurant will serve a unique spread of sharing dishes including leg of lamb and whole grilled seabass. Finish with Loukamades Greek doughnuts with mastic ice cream and toppings, as well as Bougatsa: a traditional crispy filo pie filled with semolina custard, milk chocolate and caramel.
