A major retrospective of American photographer Cindy Sherman comes to the National Portrait Gallery this July. The exhibition charts Sharman’s work from the mid-1970s, showing her ability to challenge class, gender and identity through her powerfully posed self-portraits. Around 150 works, some never before seen in a public gallery, show the enigmatic Sherman playing roles spanning con-artist, clown, housewife and country girl.

Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood, London (all weekend)

Quentin Tarantino’s hotly-anticipated film hits cinemas this Friday. Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood is set in Los Angeles during the 1960s and follows the life of faded Western star of the small screen Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth. Dalton lives on the infamous Cielo Drive, next door to Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) and her husband director Roman Polanski (Al Pacino), who were brutally killed by four members of Charles Manson’s cult.

Jazz on the Lawn at Fulham Palace (Friday and Saturday)

The Lost Love Speakeasy, Secret Location all weekend)

Following a seven-week sold-out run, the Lost Love Speakeasy returns this week for an immersive theatre experience takes its cue from the Jazz Age. Guests are transported to Manhattan, circa 1922 for an evening of late-night live music, dancing, prohibition cocktails and six-course smokehouse feast by Temper’s Neil Rankin. Pour yourself a Patrón – National Tequila Day (24 July) celebrations are taking place throughout London this week. The Mexican spirit brand has partnered with Hovarda in Soho and the newly opened South American restaurant Playa in Marylebone on two tequila cocktails with a serious kick.
