With the festive celebrations over and work emails threatening to ruin your holiday calm, start the year strong this January with our delightful guide on the best cultural events in the capital

Picasso and Paper at The Royal Academy of Arts, Piccadilly

The Royal Academy of Arts is displaying more than 300 works from across Picasso’s prolific 80-year career with a focus on the artist's use of paper. In a celebration of how the artist imaginatively used the medium, the exhibition showcases collages, drawings and sculptures with a variety of papers. Highlights include Self Portrait, a drawing using pencil and charcoal on wove paper; and Femmes à leur toilette, a collage of papers which has not been exhibited in the UK for 50 years.
