The Palm Beach: Inside Mayfair’s hidden foodie gem
The secret’s out – and there’s never been a better time to discover this glamorous dining destination

Dining at The Palm Beach Casino’s restaurant is an undeniably glamorous affair. Nestled in the smart Mayfair neighbourhood, on the corner of Berkeley Square, and only a three-minute walk from Green Park, its discreet location has long allowed it to maintain its status as the ultimate insider’s secret. But we’re letting the cat out of the bag. Step inside to discover a gorgeous space, brimming with ambiance, and promising exceptional service and sensational flavours.
The Palm Beach is grand, with high ceilings and mirrored walls, decadent leather booths, plush velvet chairs and charismatic charm, but still manages to feel intimate. Take a seat and open up an exceptional menu that will take you on a trip around the world, with an extensive selection of global cuisine to indulge the senses and satiate hunger, whatever you’re in the mood for.

The restaurant is headed up by award-winning executive chef Mahmud Zaman and, boy, he does not disappoint. Having worked at some of London’s most prestigious hospitality institutions over the last 25 years, his experience and knowledge of the luxury fine dining industry is second to none – and, at The Palm Beach, he has put it to good use creating a menu to remember.
If you’re a group of indecisive foodies who can never pick just one cuisine, or settle on what exactly takes your fancy, The Palm Beach is your answer. Offering a choice of Indian, South Asian, Chinese and European dishes, diners can mix and match for a table spread with a variety of global flavours – there are few other places where you can have world-class puttanesca pasta with a side of bhajis and chaat.

That said, Indian and South Asian cuisine definitely takes centre stage, with The Palm Beach biryani famed as the best in Mayfair (eat it to believe it). Tuck into sharing plates of chicken tikka and spicy sweetcorn chaat before moving on to larger dishes like Malai chicken and chana masala, plus classic curries including jalfrezi, bhuna and madras. Prefer Chinese? There’s everything from spring rolls and dim sum to Singapore noodles and a sumptuous fillet of seabass on offer, too.
For something completely different, enjoy a European affair of grilled king prawns in garlic followed by fresh crab pasta, sesame-crusted seared tuna or ribeye steak. Alternatively, there’s a whole menu of Middle Eastern flavours. Graze on falafel and truffled hummus before the main event of a mixed grill platter and shish tauok. Taste buds salivating? Stomach rumbling?

Complete your evening with a nightcap at the Lounge Bar, where skilled mixologists whip up top notch margaritas, daiquiris and martinis, as well as serving fine wines, spirits and champagnes. Paired with vibey music and low lighting, keep the drinks flowing in this sophisticated den.
The restaurant is open from 7pm to 1am, seven days a week (and the bar ‘til late). Make it your late-night destination for a feast of flavours and general merriment.
