Dearest reader, there's a new cocktail promising to be London's most festive concoction being served at The Lanesborough

Thought Bridgerton fever was over? Think again. This Christmas marks four years since the first season of Julia Quinn’s historical romance series hit our screens – and as the third instalment reignited the flame earlier this year, and a fourth series focusing on the eldest Bridgerton brother Benedict (played by Luke Thompson) was announced mere months ago, the Regency era allure of Bridgerton isn’t going away any time soon. And The Lanesborough certainly isn’t complaining.

The five-star hotel on Hyde Park corner hosts a Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea throughout the year, and last month debuted a festive iteration paying homage to the Regency-era at Christmas – a time of great revelling, high style, and elegant parties. Setting the scene, the Bridgerton menu will be served in The Lanesborough’s richly-decorated dining room, and features a selection of sweet treats that nod to the latest season of the television show, including The Book of Eloise and Colin’s Travels.

To accompany such fine fare is an array of cocktails, courtesy of bar and beverage manager Mickael Perron, including the Friends to Lovers concoction. He says: “This is inspired by the Lady Whistledown character and the iconic signature feather that the Bridgerton series is well known for. This mellow cocktail is a delicious Instagram-friendly crowd-pleaser – expect a classic margarita with an unexpected twist.” Doubling as a delightfully festive serve thanks to notes of maraschino cherry, here’s how to make it at home.
