Where to wine and dine in the capital this year

As one of the foodie capitals of the world, every month – let alone every year – sees London diversify its restaurant landscape further. From family-owned restaurants that have been serving the city for decades, to Michelin-starred kitchens setting the bar for fine dining, and debut openings from heavy-hitters on the American, European and Asian food scenes, whatever your palate desires, London will deliver. Naturally, then, 2025 will welcome a flurry of new restaurants from aspiring and inspiring restaurateurs promising impeccable service, boundary-breaking food and, of course, more than a little glamour and luxury. Discover the best new London restaurants opening in 2025 – and how you can be among the first to bag a table.

Don’t Tell Dad, Queen’s Park

Don’t Tell Dad
Don’t Tell Dad

Daniel Land – the original co-founder of Coco di Mama – will launch new neighbourhood bakery, Don’t Tell Dad, in the cobbled passage of Lonsdale Road in Queen’s Park, boasting an impressive combination of baked goods, French-inspired dishes, and brilliant design from Nothing is Not Nothing and Daisy Peat. Named after a common phrase whispered between siblings, the restaurant is a tribute to Land’s late sister, Lesley, with nods to her joyous character throughout.

The bakery operates from a completely open kitchen, inviting customers to marvel at the making of goods such as brown butter hazelnut croissants, artichoke, sage and Lancashire poacher pain suisse and bergamot and cardamom doughnuts, while the restaurant serves modern French-British dishes, featuring with oxtail crumpets, tea-smoked trout with soda bread, and confit duck leg, carrot and date purée. Accompanying the food, a bespoke wine list has been thoughtfully curated by award-winning sommelier Bert Blaize, showcasing small-scale, hands-on producers.

Projected opening: 17 January 2025
Address: 10-14 Lonsdale Road, NW6 6RD

La Môme at The Berkeley, Knightsbridge

One of the most highly anticipated openings of the year comes from French restaurateurs (and brothers), Ugo and Antoine Lecorché, who will be bringing the glamour of Côte d’Azur to The Berkeley with a new iteration of their sophisticated restaurant La Môme. Born on Cannes’ La Croisette in 2018, La Môme pays homage to one of Cannes’ most famous Golden Age hostesses, Lucienne Suzanne Vreurick – nicknamed La Môme Moineau (meaning ‘the little sparrow’) – who was known for throwing lavish parties at the magnificent Art Deco-style Villa Bagatelle overlooking the Bay of Cannes, reflecting the brothers’ passion for hosting and hospitality.

The French flagship was followed by an outpost in Monte Carlo in 2022, before a long-awaited launch in London this month. With the original having regularly hosted movie stars and dignitaries, La Môme London will be imbued with the same stylish vibe as its European sisters thanks to design by award-winning interior architect Samy Chams. On the menu, expect quintessential Mediterranean dishes with a taste of Provence and Italy, prepared in front of guests – from the snipping of thyme into olive oil to deboning a whole wild fish of the day, flame grilled and ready to be shared – while cocktails and digestifs promise plenty of tableside theatrics. This is not one to miss.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High and Lucky Cat, Bishopsgate

This February, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants is taking London’s restaurant and bar scene to new heights with the opening of three culinary experiences. Spanning three floors at 22 Bishopsgate – London’s tallest office building – dine on award-winning menus with a side of London skyline views, featuring Tower Bridge, The Shard and St Paul’s Cathedral.

On level 60, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay will become the capital’s highest restaurant, offering an Asian-inspired menu, an up-close sushi counter and dedicated cocktail bar, destined to be the coolest hideout in the city. On the same floor,  a private dining room looking towards Alexandra Palace – aptly named Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High – will take the form of an intimate 12-seater chef’s table showcasing the legacy of Ramsay’s flagship Chelsea restaurant, which is celebrating its 27th anniversary and its 24th year maintaining three Michelin stars this year. On the 61st floor, meanwhile, the inaugural Lucky Cat Terrace will boast more incredible views and a retractable roof when the sun is shining.

Down on level 59, Bread Street Kitchen and Bar by Gordon Ramsay will serve the chain’s signature dishes, cocktails, and an afternoon tea experience. Finally, new for 2025, is a collaboration with Hexclad Academy, where culinary enthusiasts can hone skills from pasta making to mixology, and perfecting the classic beef Wellington. That’s date night, your next work party or friendly get-together sorted.

Oorja, Soho

Oorja, Soho

The latest restaurant venture from Gobind Chona, Oorja – meaning energy in Hindi – offers casual Indian comfort food at its very best. Following the success of his first restaurant, Gura Gura, Oorja – situated on Shaftesbury Avenue – invites guests on a journey through India via vibrant, delicious dishes inspired by northern recipes that have been handed down through generations. The all-day menu begins at breakfast, transporting foodies to the bustling streets of Mumbai with vegan dalia porridge – banana porridge with coconut cream and seasonal berries – and the Oorja sawera kebab platter featuring chicken tikka and lamb kebab with saffron rice, grilled tomato and fried egg.

Leave dinner in the hands of the experts with the restaurant’s unique Chef’s Choice offering  or opt for fail-safe options of Indian-style spatchcock chicken marinated in barbecue sauce with fenugreek and cream cheese, or Railway Lamb Curry: lamb leg with aromatic black cardamom, mace and onion sauce. On Sundays, Oorja will also be serving up its own Indian-inspired Sunday roast, featuring tandoori-spiced roast beef with crispy Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and mixed vegetables topped with garam masala beef gravy.

Alba, Knightsbridge

Bringing a little slice of the Italian coast to Knightsbridge, just a stone’s throw from Harrods, Alba captures la dolce vita with an atmosphere reminiscent of the sights and sounds of southern Italy. Step inside to discover a colour palette of olives, lemon yellows and terracottas, complete with real citrus trees, and a layout seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor dining. Dine on tableware from Ginori – the Florentine porcelain house founded in 1735 – and pick from an eye-catching seafood display featuring lobster and langoustine, as well as oysters, sea urchin, king crab and an array of fresh fish.

Dishes are designed to reflect the very best of Italy: think la figliata di battipaglia, a rich, creamy ‘pregnant mozzarella’ as it’s known in Campania, and culatello di zibello, or ‘little ass’ in Italian, the finest cured meat exclusively harvested in eight towns within Parma's province. Among the mains will be Amalfi staples, such as risotto con gambero (prawn) and saffron, Sicilian carpaccio gambero rossi di mazara, panettone tiramisu, and a range of Italian gelato served tableside.

Osteria Angelina, Shoreditch

Can’t get enough of Dalston-based Angelina’s Italian-Japanese cuisine? The good news is that 2025 marks the opening of the restaurant’s pasta-focused off-shoot: Osteria Angelina. Housed in a converted warehouse on the border of Spitalfields, Shoreditch and The City, founders Joshua Owens-Baigler, Amar Takhar and Laura Horta have expanded their business to serve fresh pasta with a Japanese twist, as well as Italian-Japanese-inspired Binchotan grilled dishes, while embracing the traditional osteria style of northern Italy.

The 75-cover restaurant is centred around a large open kitchen and bar, with a mix of table seating and chef counters, where pasta making will be the star of the show. Having worked at the original Angelina for five years, executive chef Usman Haider is responsible for the relaxed a la carte offering, featuring eight regularly-changing fresh pastas and big grill cuts for sharing, from whole fish to ribeye steaks. The wine list will focus on Italy’s diverse landscape, while a sake list curated by London-based expert Masayo Nuttall will also be on offer alongside a range of cocktails and Japanese whiskies.

Brasserie Constance, Fulham

Adam Byatt
Adam Byatt

Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt is moving into Fulham Pier in 2025 with the launch of Brasserie Constance, offering a modern British dining experience rooted in Fulham’s history. The restaurant is inspired by its namesake, Constance Spry, who was widely known for her floristry and ceramic collaboration with the historic Fulham Pottery – an inspiration that takes shape in the floral motifs and bespoke handmade ceramics that will adorn the space. Sample menus have been kept firmly under wraps but, if they’re anything like Byatt’s Trinity restaurant in Clapham, you can expect very good things.

Projected opening: Spring 2025

Mr Porter Steakhouse, Mayfair

Following acclaimed outposts in Barcelona and Amsterdam, Mr Porter (named for the steak cut, not the fashion e-tailer) prides itself on breaking the rules of fine dining – and will arrive on Mayfair’s Park Lane this spring. Nodding to the heydays of London’s most glamorous district, the designers at Baranowitz + Kronenberg were inspired by the idea of falling through the rabbit hole: enter through a copper door on street level that reveals nothing of the world awaiting behind, before reaching a monochromatic foyer and descending into a dark sensorial space featuring velvets, wood, and natural stone.

Blending the concepts of a modern steakhouse with a chic lounge, menu highlights include prawn salad with grilled corn, avocado and chilli sauce, and roasted sea bass in adobo, followed by signature cuts of ribeye, lady mignon, sirloin and, of course, the Mr or Mrs Porter bone-in fillet, chateaubriand and tomahawk. Wash everything down with signature cocktails such as Love Potion – a mix of mastiha liqueur and rum under a cotton candy cloud – and French Touch: a Parisian serve featuring vodka, citrus, peach, and champagne.

Projected opening: Spring 2025

Parasol, Dalston

the sun tavern

Parasol is a joint venture from the mixologists behind some of the capital’s best bars – Discount Suit Company, The Sun Tavern and The Umbrella Workshop, as well as London’s only working cidery, Umbrella London – and promises to bring cutting-edge cocktails to Stoke Newington Road this spring. Soundtracked by an enviable roster of guest DJs playing esoteric selections based around heady 1980s NYC-style disco, the bar is housed in former Dalston nightclub, The Nest, and while Parasol’s debut menu is yet to be revealed, drinks are expected to be in the vein of what The Umbrella Project does best: riffs on classics and a seasonally-changing signature house menu. There will also be an extensive wine list and bar snack menu courtesy of Provisions Wine and Cheese.

Projected opening: Spring 2025
Address: 36 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7XJ
