Make hosting a breeze by having a professional do all the hard work for you

While none of us are keen to repeat last year’s disappointing festive season, one thing that many discovered is that, when it comes to Christmas dinner, you don’t actually have to do the cooking yourself. As the popularity of at-home fine dining meal kits boomed during lockdown, so savvy chefs realised that the same approach could be applied to the most lavish meal of the year and, happily, they’re back again for 2021 to help even those with just a passing acquaintance with the kitchen serve up a gourmet feast. Whether you are tempted by a traditional roast turkey with all of the trimmings, a glistening beef Wellington or an alternative Indian spread, these London restaurants and home delivery services will deliver a feast fit for a king on Christmas Day. (Sorry, the washing up is still down to you.)

Home-X

Created by the team behind Six by Nico, Home-X has proved that the fine dining meal delivery trend had legs long after lockdown, and has been providing those looking for a taste of luxury at home with meal kits running the gamut from fine dining fish and chips and Chateaubriand to Vietnamese cuisine since early 2020. Having quickly sold out last year, its limited edition Christmas dinner kit is back for 2021 but, with only 1,000 kits available, you’ll need to be quick to get your hands on one. Available in both classic and vegetarian options, the multi-course menu includes smoked salmon with pickled cucumber, buttermilk and dill, bacon-wrapped turkey ballotine with pine nut stuffing and potato and truffle gratin, and a hugely indulgent sticky toffee pudding.

Featuring five-courses designed by Vivek Singh, beign with canapés of chickpea gnocchi and Bengali beetroot cake before moving on to Bhel papdi chaat (crisp wheat and puffed rice chaat) and Madras shrimp pepper fry.
