Blackacre celebrates the spirit of exploration with its new Origins collection

Ethical sourcing, exceptional craftsmanship and exquisite design come together in the British jewellery brand’s first major fine jewellery collection

British B Corp jewellery brand Blackacre has unveiled its first major collection – and it’s a true celebration of authenticity, adventure and artistry. Created following a trip taken by founder Sam Stirrat to Colombia in the pursuit of emeralds earlier this year, Origins takes its inspiration from the beauty of rare natural gemstones, each of which have been ethically sourced and crafted into dazzling pieces that tell a captivating story.

Established in 2017, Blackacre has, until now, specialised in bespoke jewellery, particularly engagement rings, that are carefully considered from inception to final polish. With an unparalleled commitment to provenance, traceability and ethics, alongside a razor-sharp focus on technical detail, thanks to its highly-educated and experienced team, Blackacre works exclusively with recycled precious metals and unique, sustainably sourced raw gemstones. The result? Mesmerising masterpieces that hold both beauty and meaning.

Informed by the Blackacre team’s ambitious expedition into the Muzo and Chivor emerald mines in Colombia earlier this year, future owners of pieces from the Origins collection will be offered the unique opportunity to relive the unearthing of their precious gems. The team’s trip was documented by the production team of royal filmmaker Will Warr, with each stage of the journey that led to the discovery of the gemstones that would inspire Origins’ three core pieces captured for perpetuity, creating a unique way to experience jewellery that goes far beyond mere aesthetics.

From the remote landscapes of South America to meticulous craftsmanship at the brand’s London atelier, Warr’s accompanying film captures every stage of the creative journey, presenting the time, effort and stories behind each piece made.

Anchoring the collection are three emerald showstoppers: the Chivor ring, Muzo earrings and the Mizo ring – each an elegant memento of the adventure and connection to nature and designed to inspire clients seeking their own journey through fine jewellery.

Each of these limited-edition emerald designs will be created in small numbers to preserve exclusivity and are available to purchase immediately. This is a first for the brand, which has previously created jewels on a bespoke and made-to-order basis only, and will see the Origins collection accompanied by a selection of ready-to-wear jewellery. Among these will be rare gemstones, such as unheated Paraiba tourmaline from Brazil, unheated pink sapphire from Sri Lanka and yellow Zimmi diamonds.

However, for those seeking something truly individual, the Origins collection is also designed to serve as inspiration for bespoke commissions. Clients are invited to select from a curated palette of diamonds and gemstones with known origins and, with the help of Blackacre’s expert team, customise feature stones and metal tones to create one-of-a-kind pieces.

Stirrat says, “Origins has been three years in the making, but its true beginning stems from a childhood pastime of collecting pebbles on beaches and in streams. From an early age, I have been constantly driven by a fascination with nature and storytelling. This collection is deeply personal to me; it’s about sharing the journeys behind each piece and creating jewellery that reflects the uniqueness of every individual who wears it. As with many things in life, it is the journey that is often as meaningful and captivating as the ultimate destination.”
