The arrival of September means cinema season is back in full swing and where better to kick things off than the lidos of Venice? The 83rd Venice Film Festival runs from 2-12 September 2026 and will welcome a vast roster of stars, all kicking off promotional tours and debuting films they hope just might land them a spot on the red carpet at next year’s awards ceremonies.

But first, of course, there’s the Venice red carpet to contend with, and, between Riva boat rides, floating pontoons, and the late summer Italian sunshine, it can be a tricky one to navigate.
