All the must-see looks from the Oscars 2025 red carpet
See all the gorgeous gowns and most masterful menswear from the biggest night in Hollywood
Well, this is it folks. The biggest night in global cinema – the Oscars 2025 – is finally here. The last, and most highly anticipated event on the awards season calendar, the Academy Awards seek to honour Hollywood’s best and brightest – which means we can expect some of the world’s most famous faces to be hitting the Oscars 2025 red carpet.
We’ll be bringing you all the most beautiful, outlandish and extravagant looks as they hit the red carpet. Keep your eyes peeled for stand out menswear moments from Colman Domingo and Timothée Chalamet, both of whom have spent the last few months proving that there’s far more a man can wear on the red carpet than just a standard tux. Meanwhile, Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Demi Moore have all been turning out killer looks this awards season, so we’re expecting something pretty special for the biggest night of them all.
Here are all the must-see looks from the Oscars 2025 red carpet.
Mikey Madison in Dior

Scooping the Lead Actress award for her titular role in Anora, Mikey Madison truly was the belle of the ball at the 2025 Oscars. That said, I’m not sure this Dior gown is doing her any favours. Her mantua train is on trend (see also: Elle Fanning below) but here it looks a little heavy and awkward and the contrast bust and satin bow all read a little ’80s prom dress’. The Tiffany & Co. jewellery, however, is on point.
Demi Moore in Giorgio Armani Privé

Demi Moore has found a niche in glitzy, highly embellished gowns this awards season and, while this is a little safer than the beautiful McQueen dress she wore to the BAFTAs, she looks every inch the movie star. The colour and fit really suit her and she was right to leave home without a necklace – it simply doesn’t need it. I do wonder if something a little more interesting could have been done with her hair though.
Colman Domingo in Valentino

There he is. Colman Domingo is by far and away my pick as best dressed man of the 2025 awards season (stay tuned for December, he may well pick up the top spot for the entire year). He has consistently been turning out looks that play with the conventions of traditional menswear, updating and playfully reimagining them in a way that feels utterly true to his personal style preferences. With that in mind, Alessandro Michele’s work for Valentino is a perfect fit, and this sash-belted scarlet tux seamlessly blends a retro fit with Latino suiting influences and old-school smoking jacket vibes. Love.
Selena Gomez in Ralph Lauren

It’s giving Sophia Loren. It’s giving Elizabeth Taylor. It’s giving pure Old Hollywood glamour and she looks absolutely thrilled to be wearing it. The fit is impeccable (even if those Bardot straps do look a little uncomfortable) and the hair and jewellery styling are pitch perfect. No notes.
Timothée Chalamet in Givenchy

Aftar a surprise win at the SAG Awards, Timothée Chalamet has suddenly found himself a prime contender in the Best Actor category – and he’s clearly going for gold. Butter yellow is one of spring’s biggest colours but it takes a brave man to wear it head to toe and rendered in leather and silk. As ever, Chalamet is one of only a handful of men who can pull it off and I love that he’s swapped a tie for a Cartier necklace. The shoe choice is all wrong though. Honestly, I’m not sure what shoes would work with that suit but it’s not those.
Zoe Saldana in Saint Laurent

Best Supporting Actress winner for her role in Emilia Pérez, Zoe Saldana has been proving why she’s one of the industry’s favourite fashion plates this awards season. She simply has the ability to make gowns that would look a bit ridiculous on anyone else look incredibly chic. This is essentially a shiny, figure-obscuring tiered sack with an embelished boob tube but she looks fantastic and that Cartier necklace is the perfect finishing touch. Hats off.
Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton

Erivo chose a gown so big I couldn’t fit it all in my image crop limit and, frankly, that’s what the Oscars red carpet is all about. It’s big, it’s undeniably inspired by the role she’s nominated for and it oozes Hollywood glamour. Yes, it does have slight dowager duchess vibes which perhaps read a little old for her, but it’s brimming with drama and the nails and Marli New York jewellery really drag it back into 2025.
Ariana Grande in Schiaparelli

Well this is, to be completely honest, exactly what I was expecting. It’s a modern rendition of Glinda’s famous gown from Wicked and, given the entire press tour for this film has been an exercise in figuring out where the line between red carpet gown and fancy dress lies, it would have been a shame to change tack for the Oscars. In truth, this is a lot more successful than the vintage Givenchy Grande wore for the Golden Globes. The sculptural peplum really lifts the ivory hue and the skirt looks pleasingly swishy. The De Beers jewellery is a lovely finishing touch. It’s giving ballet and I’m always here for that.
Monica Barbaro in Dior

The team at Dior are really feeling the pink satin right now and, to my eyes, it’s been put to much better use here than it was for Mikey Madison. The embellished bust but feels more intentional and red carpet-worthy while the pleating and fit on the skirt are more princess than prom. Beautiful.
Rachel Zegler in Dior

Image: Dior/Getty
This is pretty if a little bland. She’s not nominated so there’s no need to go for an OTT ballgown but this would probably have photographed a little better if rendered in a bolder colour. The beige feels a bit drab and diminishes the impact of the intricate pearl embellishment. The makeup is beautiful but the Hollywood blowout seems a little old for her.
Jeremy Strong in Loro Piana

Jeremy Strong has proved himself to be quite the fashion chameleon this awards season and, in my opinion, this is one of his best looks to date. The olive green looks great on him and the fit is impeccable. That take on a bow tie will likely be devisive but I think it looks rather chic and works well with the formal patent opera slippers.
Miley Cyrus in McQueen

Image: McQueen
Attending the Academy Awards in a presenter capacity, Miley Cyrus went full goth glam with bleached eyebrows and an embellished black gown and matching lace gloves. We’ll breeze past the eyebrow thing because, frankly I don’t get it and am of the opinion everyone looks better with them (especially given she opted for a full Hollywood blow out). The dress, on the other hand, is pretty great and suits her edgy preferences. The gloves are silly and obscure what looks to be a seriously dazzling Boucheron bracelet.
Felicity Jones in Armani Privé

Image: Alamy
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Brutalist, Felicity Jones has deployed that age old awards season trick of dressing like the statuette. These kind of structured, fitted gowns are very much in her wheelhouse so, while this isn’t a surprising choice, it is one that really suits her. The fabric photographs incredibly and those Boucheron earrings are the perfect choice for a high neckline.
Guy Pearce in Brunello Cucinelli

Image: Brunello Cucinelli
A handsome man in a well-cut suit – what’s not to like? It’s all very classic Oscars red carpet garb but he looks great and the glasses are a nice touch. Brooches really are emerging as the formal menswear trend of awards season but Pearce has eschewed the diamonds in favour of a ‘Free Palestine’ pin. Kudos to him for being one of the few brave enough to use the platform of the Oscars in this way.
Elle Fanning in Givenchy

Image: Alamy
This is pretty but forgettable. It’s extremely bridal (mantua trains are having a big moment on aisles everywhere this year) and the diva-esque up do isn’t helping that fact. The velvet bow is nice if a little incongruous; the real highlight here is that stunning Cartier choker.
Raffey Cassidy

Image: Alamy
An early arrival on the Oscars 2025 red carpet was The Brutalist’s Raffey Cassidy, who, not being nominated herself, was attending in support of her cast and crewmates who are. Accordingly, she’s opted for something neutral classic but with just a touch of contemporary cool. Yes, the giant bow looks a little like Playboy bunny ears, but I don’t hate it.Arian
