Recognising the talent of homegrown fashion houses and designers, the British Fashion Council (BFC) has today announced the nominees for the Fashion Awards 2024. Hosted at the Royal Albert Hall on 2 December, this annual event is the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation: a charitable fund nurturing the work of emerging designers and supporting the British fashion industry at large.

A special focus this year, however, will be on British creative energy and its impact on the industry globally. Award categories include Designer of the Year, the hotly-contested Model of the Year, British Menswear and Womenswear Designer, alongside the New Establishment category, in which nominees have been chosen not only for their design work, but also the way in which they have grown and sustained their businesses.

The voting panel spans the world over, from Vogue China founding editor Angelica Cheung to buying directors at Selfridges, SSENSE and Harrods. Nominees for the BFC Foundation Award, which recognises the talent and hard work of designers and students currently supported by BFC Foundation financial support and mentoring, will be announced in November.

Elsewhere, the British Fashion Council has revealed acclaimed artist, photographer and filmmaker Tyler Mitchell will receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator. Recognising the very best innovators and creatives in fashion, and celebrating invaluable contributions that have changed the entire fashion landscape, Mitchell will sit alongside previous winners including Edward Enninful OBE, Lady Amanda Harlech, Pat McGrath, and Sam McKnight.
