The best dressed women of 2025
Step into 2026 armed with inspiration from this year’s most stylish stars
2025 has proved to be another stellar year when it comes to celebrity style. Kicking things off with the endless glamour of awards season, followed by a celebration of Black culture and style at the 2025 Met Gala, the always chic looks at the Cannes Film Festival, and culminating with an ode to forward-thinking British design at the Fashion Awards, with plenty of street style and off-duty fashion moments in between, narrowing down this year’s ten best dressed women was no mean feat.
Never ones to shy away from a bit of hard work, however, Team LL have put our heads and collective style consciousnesses together to bring you our pick of this year’s stand out fashion mavens. With honourable mentions to Cynthia Erivo, Marion Cotillard and Lily Collins, who narrowly missed out, here are the best dressed women of 2025.
10. Claudia Winkleman
Stylist: Sinead McKeefry
For an extended period this autumn Claudia Winkleman would appear on our screens on weeknights offering up a masterclass in countryside goth glam on The Celebrity Traitors before doing a full 180 and donning head to toe sequins on Saturdays and Sundays for Strictly. If that isn’t the feat of only the most advanced clothes horse, I don’t know what is.
And while Winkleman may not plump for the most elevated of high fashion brands — her go-tos are Holland Cooper, Nadine Merabi, Barbour and Cos (with a little Saint Laurent and Burberry thrown in for good measure) — she is, perhaps, single-handedly responsible for bringing about this autumn’s tweed and tartan revival. There have, after all, been few more iconic TV fashion moments this year than the high-camp drama of Winkleman in a Luxury Family Affair cape embroidered with the word “Celebrities”.
9. Natalia Dyer

Natalia Dyer has never been shy about her love of fashion, becoming a front row regular for brands including Saint Laurent, Ferragamo and Fendi since rising to fame during the first few seasons of Stranger Things. Dyer has been working with stylist Brad Goreski since 2017 and the maturity of the pair’s relationship was evident in her red carpet appearances for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things this year.
Leaning into the show’s ‘80s horror roots, Dyer wore a series of goth-inflected gowns by the likes of Vivienne Westwood, McQueen and Rodarte and, at one point, even donned a temporary blunt fringe for extra drama. I love the commitment. Beyond the red carpet, Dyer tends to towards vintage silhouettes and classic tailoring in oversized fits that have made her something of an off duty inspiration.
8. Doechii

“For Doechii, we’ve been leaning into the idea of her being a ‘student of hip-hop’. Our process always starts with the question: what are we trying to say?" stylist Sam Woolf told Forbes after Doechii’s star-making turn at the Met Gala earlier this year. Dressed in a custom monogrammed short suit designed by Pharell Williams for Louis Vuitton, she was roundly praised as nailing the Black Dandyism dress code — kicking off a year of stellar fashion moments for the rapper.
A fan of classically preppy styles given an urban twist — Thom Browne is a favourite — Doechii has also proved herself adept at pulling off scene-stealing high fashion looks. The AW25 show season alone saw her turn up to Tom Ford in a leotard and feather jacket, arrive at Chloé in a floaty boho gown paired with thigh-length braids and barefeet, and rocking a denim corset at Schiaparelli. Having also picked up her first Grammy Award this year, expect much more to come from this star in ascendance.
7. Demi Moore

It may seem like a long time ago now but Demi Moore kicked off 2025 by stealing the show at pretty much every international awards ceremony. Sweeping up with Best Actress wins at the Golden Globes, SAG and Critics Choice awards for her role in The Substance, Moore aptly demonstrated that true style has no age, donning a series of show-stopping gowns by Armani Prive, Schiaparelli, Oscar de la Renta, Dior and McQueen that broadly fell into the ‘classics-with-a-twist’ category. Favouring strapless silhouettes with modern detailing and plenty of embellishment, this was a lesson in red carpet dressing that felt both fresh and timeless.
And while Moore has, understandably, been out of the spotlight a little more since the Oscars, a quick glimpse at her Instagram is enough to confirm that her style instincts remain on point. Largely opting for tailoring or tailoring-inspired looks, with a few trend-led pieces thrown in for good measure, recent highlights have included a faux-fur Gucci twinset paired with an embellished tangerine skirt, a floor-length Thom Browne dress layered over a sheer shirt and tie, and a crisp white Tom Ford suit and cobalt blue blouse. 6. Kaia Gerber

Okay, when you look like Kaia Gerber you could probably wear a series of bin bags and still end up on every end-of-year best dressed list, but the model-turned-actress has proved she has serious fashion chops this year. Off-duty, Gerber tends towards an aesthetic that I’m going to coin ‘Nineties Intellectual’; think low-slung jeans and tailored trousers paired with pretty ruffled tops, short-sleeved knits, cropped denim jackets, thick rimmed glasses and ballet flats. Easy, stylish and simple to replicate yourself.
On the red carpet, Gerber has spent much of the year promoting her comedic turn in Apple TV+’s Palm Royale which, given the show’s setting in 1960s Palm Beach, meant a lot of colour. The internet went wild for a mother-daughter appearance at the LACMA Art + Film Gala, which saw Gerber and Cindy Crawford twin in head-to-toe Gucci sequins, while she also proved she can do floaty and ethereal in vintage Valentino at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty and in white lace Givenchy at the Academy Museum Gala.
5. Jennifer Lawrence

Having arrived on the Hollywood scene in a blaze of critical buzz and Dior ballgowns, instantly filling her trophy cabinet with enough gongs to mean she’ll be able to pick and choose her projects for the rest of her career, Jennifer Lawrence’s approach to style has always been an interesting one. Having moved past her ingenue phase, and deciding to step back from the screen to become a mother, over the past few years she’s become something of a casualwear icon. If you’re wondering why practically every influencer and member of Gen Z is currently wearing oversized The Row coats (or Zara dupes) and cashmere sweaters with tracksuit bottoms, you have Lawrence to thank.
Happily, 2025 also saw Lawrence return to the red carpet to promote her new film, Die My Love, with Robert Pattison. Enlisting the help of long-time stylist Jamie Mizrahi, the pair have taken a quietly chic and interesting approach that very much speaks to Lawrence’s standing as a prestige actress and reluctance to shout for attention. While there has understandably been a lot of Dior (Lawrence in a house ambassador), her red carpet game is at its best when choosing smaller, more experimental brands such as Jacquemus. We await her awards season looks with bated breath.
4. Zoe Saldaña

While glimpses at Zoe Saldaña’s day-to-day style are few and far between (oversized denim, vintage tees and fun accessories seem to be the go-to formula), when it comes to the red carpet, she’s an absolute pro. Which makes sense; she’s been on our screens for more than 25 years and was nominated for her first Critics Choice in 2010. So what lessons can we learn from a red carpet queen?
Firstly, she knows what suits her. Black, white, red and orange feature heavily in her wardrobe and she tends to favour draped or flowing silhouettes over bodycon styles. Case in point: the fabulous Grecian-inspired Saint Laurent gown she wore for the Avatar: Fire and Ash LA premiere. Secondly, she takes risks. Saldaña finally scooped her first Oscar for Emilia Perez this year, choosing a burgundy puffball Saint Laurent gown with long sheer gloves for the occasion. When the rest of the room is opting for classic strapless glittery dresses, it was a daring choice that wasn’t flattering in an obvious way but was in keeping with Saldaña’s personal tastes. And what’s more stylish than being yourself?
3. Greta Lee

There’s something about Greta Lee that is just so cool. She’s the kind of person that could turn up to your house party wearing Uniqlo jeans and an old shirt and have you instantly wondering why you hadn’t thought to put together such a nonchalantly elegant outfit. Currently promoting Tron: Ares, she recently arrived at the London photo call wearing a plain white T-shirt and pleated black skirt and still managed to outshine a topless Jodie Turner-Smith (yes, really) and Jared Leto’s charity shop Jesus schtick. She’s so cool she isn’t even on Instagram. We can only aspire.
Which isn’t, of course, to say she doesn’t work hard to look this good. Lee has enlisted one of the best stylists in the business in Danielle Goldberg (whose client list also features Ayo Edebiri, Saoirse Ronan and Olivia Rodrigo), who has encouraged Lee to push her style boundaries with the kind of tricky, highly designed pieces it takes some serious poise to pull off. At her best when opting for contemporary, almost futuristic, looks with quirky design elements and sharp lines, Balenciaga, Rick Owens, The Row and Jonathan Anderson’s Dior have all proved to be the perfect foil to her Modern Matrix vibe.
2. Zoe Kravitz

Growing up with a bonafide style icon like Lenny Kravitz for a father no doubt played its part and, since rising to fame in her own right, Zoe Kravitz has proved that the apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the tree. Favouring low key rock’n’roll vibes in her off duty style (vest tops, sunglasses, lots of denim), on the red carpet she’s proven herself an adept wearer of even the most challenging looks from the seasonal collections.
A longtime Saint Laurent ambassador, the brand naturally features heavily in her rotation, but very rarely does she offer up the more classic pieces from the collection. While tending to favour gowns that are on the more revealing side — Kravitz is a confirmed fan of a side slit and plunging neckline — she also doesn’t shy away from the OTT. Despite standing at just 5’ 1”, she wore a voluminous gown with sleeves the size of beach balls to the Academy Museum Gala with aplomb, and even opted for an Oscar de la Renta gown with a cat head bodice to promote her turn as catwoman in The Batman. Celebrities are well known for taking themselves a little too seriously so it’s always refreshing to see someone have fun with fashion.
1. Anok Yai

Winner of Model of the Year at the 2025 Fashion Awards, Anok Yai’s star has been in ascendance for some time now. The closest we truly have to a supermodel in an era when most catwalk buzz is spent on nepo babies and influencers, Yai is an Egyptian-born Sudanese immigrant whose family fled to the US to escape genocide, before she was scouted by a photographer during homecoming week at Howard University in 2017, where she was studying for a biochemistry degree. A little more appropriate as role models go, I think we can all agree.
Style-wise, day-to-day she’s classic off duty model — impeccably fitted jeans, vest tops, long coats, perpetually in heels — but always styled with something that ups the ante. An oversized patent leather jacket there, a layered waistband here, an artfully deployed ombre boot, you get the idea. Recently telling British Vogue that she keeps a running personal style commentary on her Notes app, her current vibe is, “Effortlessly high effort; extremely feminine, but sexy; vampire; sheer fabrics; vintage. A girl who’s undeniably cool, dark and mysterious. She has her life together, but she’ll still take tequila shots and fight men in the club.”
The joy of being one of the world’s best models, of course, is that when it comes to ‘work events’ she has plenty of stylist pals to call on. Working with the likes of Carlos Nazario, Alastair McKimm, Isabella Mamas, and Amir Dayi, her style has evolved from classically sexy to more experimental, seeing her don a full Swarovski bodysuit for the 2024 Met Gala and a sculptural cream Dilara Findikoglu corset gown for the 2025 Fashion Awards. Yai may have found herself in the fashion world by accident but now clearly lives and breathes it. Long may she keep serving.
