The must-see looks from the BAFTAs 2025 red carpet
Join us as we bring you all the best looks from the biggest night in British film
The biggest night in British film and television returns this evening with stars from across the globe jetting in to walk the BAFTAs 2025 red carpet (and hopefully take home a gong or two). With The Brutalist, Covenant and A Complete Unknown tipped to take home the majority of the gongs, expect major menswear moments from Timothée Chalamet, Ralph Fiennes and Adrien Brody.
And, while we’ll definitely be treated to looks from the likes of Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Demi Moore, sadly, there will be fashion royalty in the form of the Prince and Princess of Wales, who usually attend in the former’s capacity as President of BAFTA, with the couple instead opting to take their children to the Caribbean for half-term. I mean, fair.
So who will we be crowning King and Queen of the red carpet instead? Stay tuned for all the latest from the BAFTAs 2025 red carpet as it happens.
Ariana Grande in Louis Vuitton

It’s not entirely pastel so that, at least, is refreshing… I jest. This is much better than her Golden Globes look and I really rather love the structure to that skirt. She’s clearly still feeling the vintage vibes but this is custom (new) Louis Vuitton which, for someone of her diminutive stature, is a better path than trying to retroactively fit an archival gown. It would have been nice to see her match a Chaumet sautoir to the neckline but, really, who am I to argue with those diamonds?
Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton

Cynthia Erivo and Louis Vuitton proved to be a pretty killer combination at the Golden Globes and, here, they’ve pulled out another beautifully structured gown. This, to my mind, isn’t quite as successful. The neckline looks a little too high for comfort and a different shoe choice would have made it all feel a little less bridal – but isn’t it nice to see her in something other than black or green?
Timothée Chalamet in Bottega Veneta

He’s the lead in one of this year’s msot nominated films so, naturally, Timothée Chalamet has decided this is the year he’s going to become a Serious Actor. Which, sadly, seems to mean an end to his experimental red carpet style. This is fine. He’s one of the few men that can make a cropped double-breasted jacket work for him but I’m not sure a black T-shirt was the way to go (even if it does show off the Cartier jewels nicely), especially when paired with those chunky shoes. Let’s hope the moustache is for a role and will be gone soon.
Pamela Anderson in Jacquemus

The beauty of the BAFTAs is that they arrive mere weeks after the Spring haute couture shows – and therefore give designers ample opportunity to show off their newest and most exquisite gowns. Taken from Jacquemus’ ‘couture-inspired’ La Croisière collection, this prisitne white gown is the perfect fit for Anderson’s newly pared-back persona. It’s not ground-breaking but it’s pretty fabulous nonetheless.
Anna Kendrick in Georges Chakra

Presenting at this evening’s ceremony, Anna Kendrick kept things (comparatively) low key in all-black vintage Georges Chakra couture from the Autumn 2005-06 collection. It’s vampy and glamorous without demanding too much of her as a wearer. That necklace is a jaw dropper.
Demi Moore in Alexander McQueen

Fresh from her Golden Globes win, and nominated in the Leading Actress category for her role in The Substance, Demi Moore’s Alexander McQueen gown could well nab her the ‘Best Dressed’ gong this evening. I mean, just look at it. Intricate in its head-to-toe beading, artistic in design and absolutely perfect in fit, she’s been brave enough to take a risk here and it’s 100 per cent paid off.
Felicity Jones in Giorgio Armani Privé

Image: Chaumet
Felicity Jones has long preferred classic, simple and elegant when it comes to red carpet dressing and this Giorgio Armani Privé look is very much in her wheelhouse. No, it’s not hugely memorable, but this is hardly Jones’ first rodeo – she attended her first BAFTA ceremony in 2011. It is, however, grown up, sophisticated, incredibly flattering and works perfectly with that Chaumet jewellery.
Letitia Wright

Former BAFTA Rising Star winner Letitia Wright, attending tonight’s ceremony to present the award to its next recipient, chose an opulent burgundy satin gown for the 2025 event. Complete with spangled cape-style drapery and gorgeous Chaumet jewellery, that jewel-tone looks stunning on her.
Zoe Saldaña in Saint Laurent

Scooping the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the somewhat beleagured Emilia Pérez, a black gown and big smile are a good choice for a star that’s been monumentally let down by her castmate. In truth, this is pretty great. Love the drama of the neckline and the relative simplicity of her hair and makeup stop everything from becoming a bit too ‘opera diva’. The De Beers jewellery is stunning.
Selena Gomez in Schiaparelli

Going up against Saldana in the Best Supporting Actress category, also for her role in Emilia Pérez, and fresh off the back of announcing a new album, Selena Gomez has a lot going on at the moment – which may explain why she dropped the ball a little with this look. The beaded gown is beautiful but, to my eyes, would have been better with a higher neckline and left far, far away from those velvet sleeves. They overcomplicate what could have been a classically gorgeous red carpet look. Also, she needs a necklace to balance out that stonker of a Tiffany & Co. bracelet. The makeup, however, is on point.
Colman Domingo

Take note boring tuxedo wearing stars: this is how you do it. The BAFTAs is traditonally seen as a little less formal than say, the Oscars, so it’s the perfect place to have a little fun with the traditional suit format and, apparently, no one does it better than Colman Domingo. True, not everyone could make a print like this work, but he’s playing to his strengths and I’m here for it. One could argue that that’s a touch *too* much chest for a black tie event but, who knows, maybe he’s just showing off that stellar Tiffany & Co. pendant and he’ll button up once he’s inside.
James McAvoy

No shirt for an event like the BAFTAs is a real choice – and it takes a suit like this to make it work. The wrapped, double-breasted jacket is fantastic in a ’70s, glam rock kind of way (helped by that fabulous brooch/buckle) and the wide cut of the trousers feels pretty fresh. Nice choice on the IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, too.
Jeremy Strong in Loro Piana

It was approximately -3°C in London tonight and I can only imagine Jeremy Strong attracted hugely envious glances from every woman braving the cold in plunging necklines and sleeveless gowns. To be fair, that Loro Piana coat would still be covetable even if you were properly attired for the weather. This is proper Italian sprezzatura.
Adrien Brody in J.Crew

J.Crew isn’t a name we see too often on the awards season red carpets but it’s done Leading Actore winner Adrien Brody a real solid for the BAFTAs 2025 red carpet. Yes, it’s a fairly basic tux, but it fits him really well and the fabrics look luxe even from my vantage point behind a screen. Also, eyebrows on fleek Mr Brody.
Stacy Martin in Louis Vuitton

Image: Louis Vuitton
This is hugely pretty. Attending in support of her The Brutalist castmates, French actress Stacy Martin looks ethereal and every inch the starlet in this shimmering Louis Vuitton gown and jewellery. The sage green suits her colouring perfectly, I love the dainty flowers and can even be persuaded by that draped peplum. Brava.
Michelle Monaghan in Gucci

Attending in her capacity as an award presenter, Michelle Monaghan chose a fabulous scarlet Gucci gown for the BAFTAs 2025. It’s all pretty old-school Hollywood, screaming ‘film star’ without demanding too much attention – the ideal look for an actress not up for a gong this evening.
Mimi Keene in Dior

Image: Dior
Donning one of the more interesting gowns of the evening, Sex Education‘s Mimi Keene donned a nautically-inspired lace design from the Dior Cruise 2025 collection. Staying just the right side of tablecloth, the colours look wonderful on her and I have to appluad someone willing to go down a less obvious (read: less sparkly) route.
Orlando Bloom in Burberry

Image: Burberry
The men of the BAFTAs are clearly saying no to ties this year. Perhaps the absence of HRH means everyone feels they have license to let a little more loose but this (admittedly, very well fitted) Burberry tux feels like it would have benefitted from a bow tie. He looks great – but next time do your top button up for the photos, Bloom.
Sope Dirisu in Burberry

Image: Burberry
Oh dear. I know oversized suits are having a bit of a moment right now but there’s oversized and then there’s just plain badly fitted. The jacket is doing nothing for him, the grey shirt is drab and those shoes are way too heavy. He’s a good looking guy who, given the right attire, could work the hell out of the red carpet – but this ain’t it. Let him loose on Colman Domingo’s wardrobe and let’s watch him fly.
