The London property scene isn’t short on buzzy new developments and innovative architectural propositions. But a new property developer behind them? That is a rarity. Allow us, then, to introduce Salboy. Founded in 2020, in just two short years, Salboy has delivered more than 2,750 modern homes in sought-after city locations, with teams based in London, Manchester, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing supporting an international client base.
And this is just the beginning. With over £1 billion in development and planning in London, Greater Manchester and Cornwall, the future looks bright for Salboy. Want your piece of the action? Here are the Salboy developments to know about now.
One Cluny Mews, Earl’s Court
Salboy’s first residential scheme in London, One Cluny Mews is a boutique 35-unit new-build set in a private garden courtyard in the affluent Philbeach Gardens neighbourhood. Situated in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, adjacent to St Cuthbert’s Church, a Grade I*-listed Anglo-Catholic edifice with a fascinating history, this development boasts an idyllic central location.
Designed in collaboration with architect Studio Power, One Cluny Mews is characterised by thoughtful, sleek design that combines natural materials with stylish, monochromatic minimalism. Constructed from elegant white stonework, with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, doorways and window frames are highlighted with emerald green brickwork to complement the secluded, leafy garden that surrounds the entrance of the development. Designed to exemplify understated opulence, this sophisticated style extends into each of the 35 high-quality one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including eight duplex penthouses.
Along with high-tech security systems and a round-the-clock concierge service, the site is accessed via private gates, offering a level of safety that promotes true relaxation. The private residents’ garden also provides a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city. Elsewhere, the ground floor of the development offers flexible boutique office spaces for residents, ideal for those looking for adaptable workspaces with a prestigious London address.
“London is a key part of our long-term growth strategy as a developer and funder of high-quality housing across the UK,” says Simon Ismail, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Salboy. “We’re delighted to have achieved such a high level of early buyer interest and commitment in our first development in the capital. We look forward to sharing with more homebuyers and investors what One Cluny Mews, our new site in Mornington Crescent and our other pipelined London schemes can offer them over the coming months.”
Viadux, Manchester Central
Viadux is an elegant 40-storey glass tower designed by internationally renowned Simpson Haugh Architects. This striking new addition to Manchester stands proudly above the iconic Grade II*-listed former railway station viaducts and central Manchester’s busiest transit hub.
As part of the development, the vast Victorian arches under Manchester Central are being converted into luxurious facilities to serve the Viadux residential tower. As Ismail explains, “The vaulted spaces are on a huge scale and absolutely majestic. We wanted to incorporate this historical element into the project and use them to create the most luxurious and unique facilities in the city.
“We have all this architectural history underground while rising above will be spacious modern apartments, fitted to the latest and highest specification right in the heart of the centre of the city.”
Through the original arches, a new frontage will be created, transforming the site and breathing new life into the historic viaduct. Casting your gaze past the concierge in the residents’ lobby, you’ll be greeted by a magnificent floor-to-ceiling aquarium, creating a wall of water and vibrant colour.
Viadux will also boast world-class amenities including a private residents’ swimming pool and spa, fully fitted gymnasium, yoga studios, private lounge, bar, cinema room, karaoke room and podium terrace garden. Take a dip between the vaunted brickwork canopies and relax in the heated swimming pool and sauna facilities. A truly unique experience provided by a home like no other.
