Former LVMH executive Blandine de Navacelle champions art, style, and European design in this triptych of apartments

Studio Lodha, the luxury interior design arm of property developer Lodha, has just launched three impeccably curated show apartments at Holland Park Gate, situated opposite the main entrance to the glorious 54-acre Holland Park.

The new apartments have been conceptualised by former LVMH executive Blandine de Navacelle, now creative director at Studio Lodha. Reflective of her refined European style, the show homes effortlessly blend timeless elegance with modern sophistication, while also embodying their own unique character. De Navacelle has brought together a range of carefully selected antiques, curated artwork, custom joinery and distinctive fabrics, paired with iconic European design pieces to create soothing yet chic spaces.

Residence 64 is the largest of the three new show apartments, comprising three-bedrooms and located within the proscenium arch at Holland Park Gate. Split over two levels, it boasts a mezzanine and an open-plan living area with nearly triple-height ceilings which, thanks to large windows, are filled with light and benefit from enviable views across Holland Park.

Playful yet elegant, standout design features include a striking Japanese folding screen as its centrepiece, paired with a show-stopping chandelier hanging from the impressively tall ceiling. A sculptural console by Studio Lodha favourite Maylis et Charles Tassin adds a sense of fluidity, while a luxurious rug from Manufacture Cogolin nods to De Navacelle’s French heritage. Fabrics have been sourced from renowned design houses like Pierre Frey, Dedar, and Nobilis, and add warmth, texture and vibrancy, while an antique Louis Vuitton trunk encased in Perspex serves as a quirky, unique and decadent coffee table.

Residence 65 also has three en-suite bedrooms, and sits in the southeast corner of Holland Park Gate, surrounded by the beautifully landscaped garden designed by nine-time Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist Andy Sturgeon. The striking flora-filled views have inspired the interior décor, which features Pierre Frey’s elegant ‘Voile de Genes’ wallpaper in the principal bedroom. Outstanding artwork includes a sculpture by Florian Tomballe, who trained at the Royal Academy of Antwerp; a vibrant canvas by Houston-born artist Terrell James, whose work is featured in prestigious collections like the Whitney Museum and the Menil Collection; and a unique Faces chandelier in white plaster by French artist Philippe Valentin.

Residence 76, with its three en-suite bedrooms, is also located on the top left corner of the arch, overlooking Kensington High Street and the park. The gorgeous home features a custom-made gold-detailed console table; a stone console and metal coffee table sourced from renowned Parisian gallery Galerie Glustin; and a slew of thoughtfully selected artworks, such as Gabriele Cappelli’s Composition 447 and Terrell James’ Cleft. Residence 76 also benefits from a thoughtfully designed work-from-home space nestled within the spacious corridor and is complemented by an antique-finish mirror that adds depth and light.

Blandine de Navacelle says: “Kensington is one of my favourite areas in London, and so it has been a pleasure to work on the light-filled residences at Holland Park Gate. The pale stone and blonde wood finishes provided an ideal foundation for Studio Lodha’s design philosophy. While each apartment has its own unique character, my vision was deeply inspired by European design, drawing on my experiences and expertise to incorporate bespoke wall panelling and a curated mix of antiques and recognisable, designer pieces. My goal is for residents to feel a sense of calm and comfort as they step into their home, while also being inspired by the creative details and custom elements woven into each space.”

One of the most prestigious postcodes in London, the building itself holds grand historical significance, having housed the ‘Kensington Kinema’ from 1926 until 2015. Set to comprise 71 apartments, ranging from one- to four-bedroom homes, when it completes later this year, amenities at Holland Park Gate will include a dedicated Piero Lissoni-designed health club and spa, including a 25m pool, gym, private treatment rooms, dining room, and library, as well as a restaurant, boutique cinema and flexible workspace.

A key milestone for the glorious Holland Park Gate development, phase one is now 85 per cent sold following a strong first quarter, with Studio Lodha set to open a sub-penthouse and terrace at the development later this year.
