Ca Na Kalini

Holiday home of the month: A design-led Ibizan villa rooted in nature

Ca Na Kalini is set to be one of the most exclusive addresses in Ibiza

Ibiza is having a moment. Long known for its hedonistic highs and superclub scene, the Balearic island is quietly reinventing itself as a sanctuary for design lovers, wellness seekers, and, perhaps surprisingly, thoughtful property investors. 2025 marks a turning point for the island, with the hotly anticipated opening of Soho Farmhouse Ibiza in Santa Gertrudis – the brand’s first and only opening this year – proving the White Isle is ridding its reputation as Spain’s wild child and is more interested in getting back to nature.

Away from the bright lights of San Antonio, Soho House’s new retreat in the quiet village of Santa Gertrudis is expected to be its most health-focused yet. Rooted in wellness, fitness and nature, expect a gym, yoga deck, sauna, ice baths and a stronger-than-ever emphasis on non-alcoholic offerings – but beyond the resort’s gates, Ibiza itself is evolving, and so too is its architecture.

Case in point is Ca Na Kalini. Tucked into 66,500m² of lush, unspoiled countryside near Santa Gertrudis, this five en-suite bedroom property is a rare island retreat offering total tranquillity just 15 minutes from Ibiza Town and the airport. The building was completed last year, blending contemporary luxury with sustainability, and featuring natural stone finishes, bespoke cabinetry, and expansive windows that flood the interiors with Spanish sunlight. Plus, it’s fully off grid. With a state-of-the-art solar power system, underfloor heating, and Panasonic air conditioning, it’s been built with sustainability in mind and caters for year-round efficiency.

Part of Ca Na Kalini’s appeal is that it has been designed to allow its future owners to put their own stamp on the property. For example, there is space for two further bedrooms on the lower ground floor and the expansive outdoor plot – a rarity on the island – could quite easily accommodate a padel court, sea-facing yoga platform, outdoor kitchen or al fresco dining area. A separate 60m² casita also adds a level of flexibility – ideal for future development, a home office, or a peaceful retreat for staff or guests.

Tim Stacey, sales director at Charles Marlow Ibiza – an independent estate agency in the Balearics – says: “We’re seeing a new evolution of Ibiza, one that’s less about the party and more about presence, balance, and connection to nature. The upcoming opening of Soho Farmhouse in the island’s north is a clear signal of that shift. Today’s buyers want homes that reflect this more conscious lifestyle: properties that feel grounded, use natural materials, and encourage indoor-outdoor living.

“Ca Na Kalini is a perfect example. It’s a turnkey villa finished to an exceptional standard, yet it also offers the rare luxury of space and flexibility to grow. For many, that blend of serenity, design, and future potential is exactly what defines the new Ibiza.”
