Set for completion in 2027, this Hampstead development promises new-build conveniences in an historic postcode

Property developer Valouran has announced a slew of partnerships and appointments for its new landmark development on The Bishops Avenue – one of north London’s most prestigious addresses – which will be home to a total of 36 elegant and exclusive apartments, all set within a bucolic 2.5 acres of landscaped greenery.

With the basement structure and frame now complete, the dedicated marketing suite is set to open this month, followed by a show apartment dressed by interior design studio Albion Nord in spring next year. With Myco appointed as the main contractor responsible for delivering the fit-out of the development, Savills and Glentree Estates will be acting as the exclusive sales agents.

With a history as one of London’s most esteemed addresses, known historically as ‘Billionaire’s Row’, the Bishops Avenue Gardens is set across four distinct buildings. Taking style notes and inspiration from the artistic history and character of the surrounding Hampstead Garden Suburb area, architecture studio Pilbrow & Partners will combine heritage restoration with contemporary design throughout the development, working in conjunction with Albion Nord.

Tucked away among the trees of the famously green London suburb, every detail has been conceived to reflect the interplay between nature, unrivalled design and exquisite craftsmanship, bringing the beauty of the outdoors in. Indeed, most of the pavilions have been named after species of tree found within the grounds, with the exception of Oak Lodge, which is the original name of the building that first stood at 54 Bishops Avenue.

Fine finishes, bespoke furnishings, and local artistry will give depth and warmth to the homes, from intricate woodwork and hand-selected materials to custom-designed interiors. Intelligent design will take precedence over trends, with classic textures and tones taking centre stage. Both old and new buildings promise humble grandeur, reflected in quartzite kitchen worktops and integrated Gaggenau kitchen appliances. This theme continues through to the sustainably sourced European oak floors, antique brass internal doors, natural stone tiles in the bathrooms, and bespoke metal balustrades on the terraces and balconies, complete with porcelain tiles.

These will be complemented by sanctuary-like residents’ areas, including a library and entrance lobby, alongside hotel-style amenities. Lifestyle luxuries include a state-of-the-art fitness suite with ergonomic machines made in stylish hardwood, and a gorgeous spa, where soothing treatments and five-star facilities are on offer. The impressive residents’ function room has the upscale comfort of a stylish West End private members’ club, while a concierge service, round-the-clock on-site security, and secure underground parking will all be managed by Rhodium.

Outside, specialist PAD Landscapes will place Arts and Crafts-inspired
landscaping at the heart of the site’s gardens, incorporating the preservation of historic trees, the introduction of native planting, a central courtyard, woodland paths, and secondary access to The Bishops Avenue.

Alex Michelin, founder and CEO at Valouran, comments: “Every aspect of Bishops Avenue Gardens has been meticulously designed with the human experience at its heart. Timeless elegance meets exquisite craftsmanship, where refined lines and rich textures come together to elevate everyday living. Surrounded by majestic, historic trees and expansive, beautifully landscaped gardens, this development fosters meaningful connections with nature, redefining luxury as an experience to be felt, shared, and cherished.”

A sought-after enclave for foreign royals, film stars and business leaders for more than a century, this beautiful corner of north London, set between Hampstead and Highgate, is set to become even more alluring.
