Everything the Luxury London team has been loving this month

February has been busy at Luxury London HQ. Here's what we've been loving, wearing, and visiting this month

February provides so much hope – and that’s why it’s one of the Luxury London team’s favourite months. With January firmly behind us for another year, this short month acts as a precursor to spring – and if the reaction to the weather this week was anything to go by, we’re all in need of a little sunshine. That’s not to say we’ve been resting on our laurels in February, though; with London Fashion Week, Valentine’s Day, and the BAFTAs having us rushed off our feet, and with Mother’s Day and Easter on the horizon, it’s no understatement to say we’ve been busy. Here’s what we’ve been up to (when we’re away from our laptops) and what we’ve been wearing (both in the office and at the weekends), as well as what we will definitely be taking into the sun-drenched spring days ahead.

The bakery: Little Sourdough Kitchen, Fulham

Start your day with a coffee and cardamom bun at Little Sourdough Kitchen, and it’s going to be a good day. Already winning the hearts of the Fulham neighbourhood, with queues snaking down Munster Road daily, I joined the crowd to see what all the fuss was about. Buttery, flaky pastries, hearty loaves, coffee that actually hits the spot; it didn’t take long to realise why it’s becoming such a local hero. I’ll be back.

The self-care: Hershesons Fitzrovia

Hershesons

For a spot of TLC, a trip to the hairdressers is always a welcome treat, and Hershesons Fitzrovia is certainly a cut above the rest. A gorgeous salon/co-working space/cafe, I settled in for a luxurious wash and blow dry for some much-needed R&R. Using products from Kat Burki’s haircare range, after just 45 minutes, including a deep shampoo, condition and scalp treatment, my hair felt restored, refreshed and radiant.

The beauty fix: Caia Cosmetics and Loving Tan

This time of year, it’s pretty easy for my skin to look like it’s never seen daylight (thank you rainy London). Step in Caia Cosmetics and Loving Tan. The former, a Stockholm-founded beauty brand, provides me with a daily natural glow (its Dewy Drops foundation instantly elevates my complexion) while the latter gives me that all-over, ‘just stepped off a plane from the Caribbean’ look in just two hours.

The shirt: The Shirt Company

Earlier this month Luxury London hosted an event to celebrate the official launch of our Private Office vertical. Held in Canary Wharf, and with a guestlist of big wigs from the worlds of finance, insurance and law, it was a fantastic night. The only hitch? A business dress code. While Team LL prides itself on dressing well, as writers and creatives, that tends to mean more Margiela Tabis and Casablanca knitwear than Savile Row suits. Enter The Shirt Company. Its Karter tuxedo shirt, with a cotton sateen fabrication, detachable double collar and velvet bow, gives the classic white shirt a chic high-fashion twist.

The WFH wardrobe: Garage

If, like me, you already have a work-from-home wardrobe literally bursting with Adanola sweatshirts, Lululemon leggings and Tala vests, well, I'm afraid you're just going to have to make room for more – because Garage has just arrived in town. The beloved Canadian sportswear and athleisure brand has just launched in the UK and I got a sneak peek at what's on offer during its London Fashion Week pop-up; trust me when I saw you're going to want it all. I've already invested in a cosy oversized hoodie, tennis dress, cycling shorts and layered vest top – and I can guarantee that's just for starters.

The lip balm: RéVive Intensité Moisturising Lip Balm

I’ve never been a lipstick fan but I’m practically addicted to lip balm and, after much, much research, I think I’ve finally found the perfect one. RéVive’s Intensité Moisturising Lip Balm is a deeply nourishing formula packed with hydrating mango and marula tree extract and beeswax – ideal for repairing delicate winter damaged skin – while the refreshing formula plumps and the cooling applicator soothes. Plus, it sinks in almost instantly meaning no sticky residue.

The ski gear: The Couture Club’s Apres Club

Manchester-born streetwear brand, The Couture Club, has become a mainstay in many suave wardrobes and for good reason. The brand’s latest collection, Apres Club, is perfect for those with an escape to the mountains on the cards. Looking beyond technical skiwear and instead focusing on how people dress around alpine culture, from slope days to après hours and everyday winter moments in the mountains. The result? Cosy knits, functional layers and retro athleisure you will wear long after your holiday in the snow.

The summer essentials: Hunza G and Chimi

We’ve had one day of full sun this month and it’s got me dreaming of summer. In that spirit, I’ve been curating my spring/summer wardrobe and top of the list has been new swimwear and sunnies. For the latter, I recommend Stockholm-based brand Chimi. Loved by It girls Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Suki Waterhouse, designs range from timeless classics to bold statement sunglasses, as well as sport, and ski frames. My personal favourite? The Core style in a versatile but fun pear green.

An obvious choice for swimwear is Hunza G. Born in 1984 (it was the brand which created Julia Roberts’ iconic cut-out dress in Pretty Woman) but rebranded in 2015, the London-based swimwear brand is famous for its one-size approach and its signature Original Crinkle material. I got my hands on the Domino swimsuit – famously the design which crashed the site when it launched, featuring a dipped neck, scooped back and chic hoop detailing. Plus, Hunza G has just launched its spring collection, featuring two new shades of metallic ice blue and butter yellow – I suggest you run, don’t walk.

The handbag: Fairfax & Favor mini Aviemore

I have long been a fan of Norfolk-born luxury lifestyle brand Fairfax & Favor – but the new Aviemore collection has truly sealed the deal. Launched this week, the collection features three distinct sizes crafted from supple suede and smooth full-grain leather. As a girl who’s constantly between city and countryside, I know this will work just as well for urban weekend brunches as it will for pub pitstops in Cornwall and the Cotswolds. Consider this my new bag of the season – and be quick if you want to get your hands on yours. Fairfax & Favor’s new bags always sell out within days of launching.
