Humo

The restaurant: Humo London
This month I finally booked into Humo and it was one of those meals that lingers long after the last bite. Since January, new head chef Robbie Jameson has been leading the kitchen, taking this Michelin-starred spot into an exciting new chapter. The menu is entirely cooked over wood fire – everything from delicate fish to rich cuts of meat touched by smoke and flame. It’s dramatic, yes, but also beautifully precise. The service was just as impressive: warm, knowledgeable and never overbearing. One of those rare restaurants where you feel utterly looked after from start to finish.
The wardrobe refresh: Kitri
I’ve been refreshing my workwear lately – and Kitri has proved to be the brand I keep coming back to. Its Lea tie-front waistcoat and Ada tailored trousers have redefined my idea of office dressing. The cut is sharp yet relaxed, offering a flattering silhouette that feels powerful without being rigid. It’s the kind of outfit that carries you from early-morning meetings to late-night drinks, while still feeling fresh and fashion-forward. A perfect reminder that workwear doesn’t have to be predictable.
The autumn layer: AllSaints suede bomber

Brown suede feels like the mood of the season, and AllSaints’ Orten bomber is the piece I’ll be reaching for on repeat this autumn. It has that perfect balance of relaxed and refined – soft enough to throw over jeans and a T-shirt, but polished enough to layer with tailoring. The best part? Suede ages beautifully, so this is one of those jackets that will only look better with time. I can already tell it’s going to be a forever favourite.
The hair saviour: Lush Supermilk

After almost 30 years of trying to tame, straighten and generally ignore my natural waves, I’ve finally started leaning into them – and Lush’s Supermilk has been a game-changer. It’s a lightweight leave-in spray that detangles, hydrates and smooths, all without leaving my hair heavy or sticky. My curls look healthier, feel softer and, best of all, smell divine thanks to the product’s subtle fragrance. It’s become a non-negotiable in my routine and makes embracing my natural hair feel easy, rather than a battle.

The serum: Obagi Medical Nucil Eyebrow Boosting Serum

Perhaps it’s age, or the unfortunate habit I’ve developed of constantly smoothing my brows every time I’m wearing a laminator, but a few weeks ago I noticed a bald spot beginning to appear on one of my eyebrows. Thankfully, I had a tube of Obagi’s Nucil eyebrow serum waiting in the wings. Applied daily using the mascara-style wand and left on overnight, my brows were back to health in a fortnight. Remarkable.
The jacket: Lee x Crayola chore jacket

Offbeat collaborations have become fashion’s go to for injecting a little fun back into our wardrobes – and I’m here for it. Hot Wheels x Maje, Chopova Lowena x Hellman’s, Crocs x Just About Anyone. The latest to catch my eye? A colourful new denim collection created by Crayola and Lee. This striped chore jacket is subtle yet playful.
The running shorts: Lululemon Court Rival shorts

Move over Pilates princesses: the imminent return of autumn means runners are taking centre stage once again. With its Court Rival shorts, Lululemon has created a design geared specifically towards two of the exercise loves of my life – tennis and running – and, yes, they have pockets. I’m buying them in every colour.

The lip gloss: Dolce & Gabbana Oil Lip Plumper
I have long been a fan of Dolce & Gabbana’s mint oil plumper. As someone whose makeup routine pays no heed to lipstick, the very least I can do is a slick of lipgloss – and since the mint oil also features a pH-reacting formula delivering a plum-tinted sheen, it ticks all my boxes. Plus, the non-sticky formula is infused with vitamin E to leave lips feeling soft and supple. Rather excitingly, the brand has just dropped three new shades – orange, watermelon and coffee – and you best believe I can’t wait to get my hands on all of them.
The wine: Gusbourne Brut Rosé 2019

The last bank holiday until Boxing Day (sorry!) called for some serious toasting – and the only bottle befitting of the occasion in my wine cabinet was the gorgeous Gusbourne Brut Rosé. One of the English vineyard’s most decorated bottles – it won gold at this year’s International Wine Challenge – the serve is crisp and effervescent, with notes of red berries and spices and a rose-gold hue in the coupe. This is a sparkling for all seasons, so I will definitely have one in the cabinet by the time Christmas rolls around.
The hair mask: Davines SU Hair Mask

My beauty summer staple has been Davines’ SU Hair Mask. A top pick from the eco, Italian brand’s new SPF range for both hair and skin, it is formulated with citrus myrtifolia extract sourced directly from the owner’s farm in Savona, which contains antioxidants such as vitamin C to protect and rejuvenate hair cells after prolonged exposure to the sun. I have been lathering this on once a week for a month and my hair has never been smoother or shinier. Thank you, Davines.

The restaurant: Canal
One of the newest eateries on the block – or rather London’s Grand Union canal – is New York chef Adrian Hernandez Farina’s Canal, and I’m making it no secret that I’m a big fan. Serving up a delicious mix of contemporary flavours and cool, laidback vibes, go hungry and tuck into a feast of fresh seasonal dishes. The peaches with stracciatella were what did it for me, washed down with a citrus margarita.
The beauty product: Glossier Banana Pudding Balm Dot Com

Jumping on board the banana beauty trend, I had to try Glossier’s limited edition Balm Dot Com, made in collaboration with Magnolia Bakery. It’s as sweet, creamy, and tempting to eat as I imagined, and it keeps my lips hydrated and glossy all day long.

The city staycation: Edinburgh
At the grand age of 29, I’d never been to Edinburgh until earlier this month. Arriving into the city on a remarkably sunny day for Scotland, I was instantly besotted with its thriving culture, beautiful historical buildings, fascinating nooks and crannies, delicious eateries, bustling pubs and, of course, the Fringe festivities. I only regret it has taken me this long to uncover its charm. I’ll definitely be going back and have my eye on rooms at 100 Princes Street or Gleneagles Townhouse.
