Inside the Serpentine Summer Party 2026

The stars turned out in force for the Kensington Gallery's biggest fundraiser of the year

Last night, luminaries from the worlds of art, fashion, film, music and more came together to celebrate a new artisitic season at the Serpentine Summer Party 2026. The Kensington gallery’s msot important fundraiser of the year, held to coincide with the opening of its annual summer Pavilion, the evening was hosted by Michael R. Bloomberg, chairman of Serpentine’s Board of Trustees, Bettina Korek, CEO, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, artistic director, with co-hosts Salma Hayek Pinault, Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu.

A landmark year for the Serpentine, with its Pavilion commission now in its 25th year, the 2026 edition has been deisgned by Mexico City-based Lanza Atelier. Guests were invited to explore the fluid red brick structure, while also taking in the Serpentine’s major summer exhibitions, including Picture Making and A Year in Normandie and Other Thoughts on Painting, solo shows dedicated to Cecily Brown and David Hockney respectively.

Elsewhere, guests were served a Latin American menu featuring a corn station and chocolate sculpture, Ruinart Champagne, Whispering Angel, and Casa Dragones tequila flowed, and DJs Wolfram Amadeus, Carlita and Danny L Harle kept the vibes going, stopping only to allow Mariachi Las Adelitas delight guests with a joyful live performance.
