Inside the Fashion Awards 2025
Get the inside scoop on all the action at London’s most fashionable night of the year
British fashion’s hottest night out, The Fashion Awards, was held at the Royal Albert Hall last night, spotlighting the cultural power of sartorial style and the homegrown visionary talents pushing boundaries. Hosted by the British Fashion Council, in partnership with Pandora, the evening saw 15 gongs awarded to the industry’s most revered talents.
Hosted by actors Colman Domingo and Celia Imrie, Jonathan Anderson collected Designer of the Year for the third year in a row, this time for his debut at Dior, while Grace Wales Bonner scooped the British Menswear Designer Award. The womenswear gong was presented by Cate Blanchett to Sarah Burton for her work at Givenchy.
Interspersed by powerful performances from British artist Raye, the evening also saw Brunello Cucinelli presented with the distinguished Outstanding Achievement Award. Regarded as the ‘global Oscar of fashion’, it has been bestowed annually since 1989 and previous recipients have included the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford. Chanel, which celebrated 100 years in the UK this year and recently worked with the V&A and English National Ballet to bring its century-long heritage to life, was honoured with a Special Recognition Award.
While accepting her own Special Recognition Award, Christian Dior CEO Delphine Arnault announced that the house will increase its investment in the BFC Foundation Scholarships Programme by introducing a new annual MA Womenswear Scholarship, to sit alongside the existing MA Menswear Scholarship.
Away from the stage, the red carpet served a selection of seriously stylish looks. Ellie Goulding and Sienna Miller revealed their pregnancies, while actors Ed Westwick and Will Poulter, models Alexa Chung and Poppy Delevingne, and global stars Kylie Minogue and Naomie Harris stole the show in headturning looks. The VIP crowd then moved over to the newly-opened Chancery Rosewood to continue celebrations at an all-out after party.
