National Pizza Day, across London (Sunday)

This Sunday 9 February marks National Pizza Day. Grab a slice of the action at Crazy Pizza in Marylebone, the latest restaurant from Italian entrepreneur and ex-Formula One boss Flavio Briatore. The kitchen forgoes using yeast in its dough for an impressively thin, light crust, and the menu flits between classic and – you’ve guessed it – crazy. Watch the chefs theatrically toss mozzarella in the open kitchen and enjoy live DJs in the evening. You can usually recognise Briatore’s restaurants by their signature red teddy bears, playfully dotted around the dining room. On Sunday, Crazy Pizza is offering diners an exclusive 20% off the final bill after 5pm when ‘National Pizza Day’ is quoted upon booking.

South of the river, celebrate fermentation in its varying forms at Four Hundred Rabbits in Nunhead, which offers a succinct menu of craft beer and sourdough pizzas. The restaurant is owned by a DJ double act, who swapped playlists for pizzas to open the relaxed neighbourhood bolthole. As expected, dinner is served with expertly curated beats.

Picasso Art afternoon tea at Rosewood London, Holborn (all weekend)

Coinciding with a new art exhibition at the Royal Academy, Rosewood London has launched a new afternoon tea inspired by Pablo Picasso. Created by executive pastry chef Mark Perkins, the afternoon tea artfully recreates Picasso’s most famous work in diminutive pastry-form. A meringue sponge infused with orange blossom is inspired by Still life with Guitar (1921) while Picasso’s Head of a Woman (1924) is recreated as a dainty cheesecake, with a sweet strawberry filling. Candlelit dinner under the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel staircase, St Pancras (all week)

Adorned with gold leaf and lined with rich tapestry carpet, the ornate grand staircase at St Pancras Renaissance is considered one of the most Instagrammable in the world. It was designed by George Gilbert Scott and gained in a place in pop culture history when the Spice Girls danced on the neo-Gothic in the 1997 video for Wannabe. For the first time in the hotel’s history, Londoners can sit down to a romantic candlelit dinner at the foot of the famous stairs. A champagne reception is followed by four-course meal with wine pairings. Tuck into Devon crab cakes and slow-cooked beef cheek, with vegan and vegetarian options also available.
