This long bank holiday weekend, watch Phoebe Waller-Bridge on stage, cut loose at Notting Hill Carnival and enjoy an intimate evening of throwback jazz at Ronnie Scott’s pop-up club

Notting Hill Carnival (Sunday-Monday)

Some 50,000 revellers will descend on Notting Hill this weekend for Europe’s largest street festival. The two-day multi-coloured celebration of Caribbean culture is soundtracked by steel pan bands and the best of reggae and bashment music. The bassline kicks off at 9am and continues until 8.30, before the party continues at various after-parties.

Taco Club at Allpress Lates, Dalston (Friday)

Allpress in Dalston continues its series of lively late-night Friday events this week with a Taco Club, hosted by chef Emilie Fuller and her sister Alice. Expect hand-ground tortillas loaded with fresh salsa; slow-cooked braises and melted cheese, served with zesty tequila verdita slushies. Arriba!

Fleabag at Wyndham’s Theatre, Covent Garden (all weekend)

Seeking a Fleabag fix? Phoebe Waller-Bridge returns to the West End stage this weekend for her final swansong. The wickedly funny one-woman show comes home to London following a sold-out run in New York, directed by long-time collaborator Vicky Jones, with sound design by sister Isobel Waller-Bridge. While the majority of tickets have long sold out, there is a lottery for 50 tickets for each day’s performance, priced at £15.

OpenTable x Carousel, Mayfair (Thursday-Saturday)

OpenTable has partnered with Carousel in Marylebone to bring you LDN 195, an experimental three-day pop-up that spotlight six underrepresented cuisines in London. Feast on the likes of Ukrainian barbecued khorovats and Goan fish curry to Armenian flatbreads and pistachio and walnut baklava, served within Carousel’s signature convivial setting. The package includes a welcome cocktail, six dishes, half a bottle of wine and a digestif.

The Old Place Pop-up at Ronnie Scott’s, Soho (all weekend)

A two-week immersive pop-up opens at Ronnie Scott’s this week, to mark the world-famous jazz club’s 60th anniversary. A replica of the original Ronnie Scott’s club has been created at Gerry’s Club, located down the road from Ronnie Scott’s at 52 Dean Street, decorated with archival artwork and photography. Coined The Old Place, the pop-up will host a toe-tapping, raucous line up of jazz musicians, who will play homage to the likes of Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery and John Coltrane.

Watch The Red Roses take on The Shamrocks this weekend at Twickenham Stadium, in this Quilter International. The Monster: The World’s Largest Inflatable Obstacle Course, Alexandra Palace (all weekend)

What’s that coming over the hill? Alexandra Palace is being transformed this bank holiday weekend by a gigantic inflatable ‘Monster’. The 300-metre course features more than 40 exhilarating obstacles, including an 18-metre ‘mega slide.’ The inflatable spectacle is accompanied by a roster of adult entertainment including drag queen karaoke; boozy bingo; late-night live DJs and plenty food and drink options.
