London Short Film Festival, London (All Weekend)

The London Short Film Festival opens this weekend for its 16th edition, celebrating a diverse array of independent short films. This year’s festival focusses on alternative ’80s culture, celebrating influential directors of the decade through original footage and a tribute to the ‘80s agitprop Scratch Video movement. As well as film screenings, the festival also plays host to live music performances, talks and workshops.

Live at The Ritz Restaurant, Mayfair (Friday & Saturday)

The Ritz is putting the razzle-dazzle into Friday nights with a new residency by the London Dance Orchestra. A four-course set dinner in the Michelin-starred Ritz restaurant is accompanied by toe-tapping live music, which takes its cue from the Big Band Era. An upbeat jazz and swing soundtrack is performed by a six-piece band, best enjoyed with a world-renowned Ritz cocktail in hand.

The London International Mime Festival, London (All Weekend)

The 42nd London International Mime Festival opens this weekend for three weeks of visual performances, taking place throughout the city. Enjoy an eclectic line-up laced with laughter, spanning magic shows, theatre performances and puppetry, alongside two classic silent films accompanied by live music at the Barbican Cinema. Further highlights include a spellbinding foray into folklore by Les Antliaclaste; emotive comedy from dance duo Thick & Tight and a futuristic performance by Green Ginger. It’s too good for words!

Through My Third Eye tattoo studio opens at the Curtain Hotel, Shoreditch

North London tattoo studio, Through my Third Eye, now boasts a pop-up tattoo parlour at the Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch, open two days per week. Visitors will be inked by founders Mowgli and Emma Bundonis, who have created an exclusive set of flash tattoos to mark the collaboration.

Assembleº, Holland Park (All Weekend)

Cornwall’s contemporary Tregony Gallery has partnered with Holland Park’s After Nyne Gallery on a Assembleº, a new exhibition of international artists including Dean Fisher, Dana Finch and David Moore. The gallery will host talks with various exhibiting artists throughout the weekend, and a percentage of sales made will be donated to The Cornwall Community Foundation.
