Famed for its world-class food, lively culture and gorgeous landscapes, there are arguably few better places to live (or own a second home) than Lisbon. From strolls along the banks of the River Tagus to morning coffee at one of the city’s many artisan cafes and sundowners at its innovative craft breweries, there’s little not to love about Lisbon’s quintessentially Portuguese appreciation for the good things in life.

If you’re tempted to make the move (and, frankly, who wouldn’t be), allow us to introduce you to Lumino – the city’s most exciting new residential development located in the heart of Lisbon. Designed to revitalise the Campo Pequeno neighbourhood, an area already famed as a world-class cultural hub, the 39,000 square metre development is just five minutes from the city’s central business district, Marquês de Pombal, and a mere 15 minutes from Lisbon University, making it the perfect spot for work and play.

Designed by local firm Saraiva + Associados, alongside British architect TP Bennett, the Round Hill Capital and TPG Real Estate development is set to complete the first 97 high-quality residential apartments in the second half of 2022. Each has been designed with its unique location in mind, with floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies and natural materials used throughout to take advantage of Lisbon’s abundance of natural light and incredible views.

Spanning one- to four-bedroom apartments, and a four-bedroom duplex, care has also been taken to ensure the development is as sustainable and energy efficient as possible, while emphasis has also been put on design which will foster a community atmosphere. This is particularly evident in the luxurious communal spaces, which include a 15-metre rooftop pool, accompanied by a vast mango wood terrace and shower area, as well as a south-facing courtyard surrounded by lush greenery from which to unwind and soak up the Portuguese sunshine.

“Lisbon has seen a long-standing supply-demand imbalance for high-quality accommodation solutions across both the residential and student sectors, forcing people out of the city,” explains Michael Bickford, founder, and CEO of Round Hill Capital. “[Lumino] is a signal of our commitment to long-term investment in Portugal, addressing this imbalance and helping to support the growth of national real estate. We look forward to building on the success of this project to further expand our portfolio across Portugal, as well as the wider European market.”

“Lisbon is one of the most attractive cities in which to live or study, and our project will become a sophisticated symbol of a quintessential Lisbon lifestyle,” adds João Pita, Development Director of Round Hill Capital Portugal. “Lumino will provide families and professionals with an authentic and connected development, close to the city’s most iconic monuments and cultural venues, as well as the city’s central business district and other facilities. The introduction of new roads, homes, open green space, and retail and hospitality offerings will reinvigorate and reconnect the local area.”

Listed for sale with Castelhana and JLL, homes at Lumino are available to buy off-plan now offering luxury living in Lisbon’s most exciting and dynamic new community. Our only question: where do we sign up?
