Whether you’re searching for gripping mystery dramas with the next instalment of The Capture or ITVX’s Gone, or a bit of period drama intrigue with Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock, there’s a box set for every sofa this month. Young Sherlock, Prime Video

Guy Ritchie returns to our screens this month with a new action-packed thriller based on the origin story of the world’s most famous detective: Sherlock Holmes. Spanning eight episodes and starring Dónal Finn, Joseph Fiennes, Max Irons and Colin Firth, the story follows a charismatic, youthful Holmes as he meets James Moriarty, and finds himself dragged into a murder investigation. Sherlock’s first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy, and unfolds in a vibrant Victorian England, highlighting the early antics of Baker Street’s most renowned resident.

Starring award-winning English actress Rachel Weisz and One Day and Bridget Jones’ leading man, Leo Woodall, as the titular character, Vladimir is based on the 2022 novel of the same name. Chronicling 170 million years of dinosaur evolution, from the Triassic period to the extinction event, this new four-part documentary examines their time on Earth and the forces that shaped their evolution and extinction. Directed by Steven Spielberg and narrated by Morgan Freeman, expect great storytelling – and even greater CGI effects. 

Gone, ITVX

Release date: 8 March 2026

ITV returns with another gripping mystery this month in Gone, starring David Morrissey and Eve Myles. When pillar of the community and inscrutable headmaster Michael Polly returns home to discover his wife is missing, he finds himself under mounting pressure to provide answers to no-nonsense detective, DS Annie Cassidy. She doesn’t trust a thing he says – but can you? Discover on 8 March. 

The Capture series 3, BBC One

Release date: 8 March 2026

With a star-studded cast including Ben Miles, Callum Turner and Laura Haddock, BBC will air the third instalment of The Capture this month. While the first series saw young detective Rachel Carey (Holliday Grainger) overturn a British soldier’s war-crime conviction because of dodgy surveillance equipment, the next chapter is set to see Carey investigate a terrorist attack before being drawn into an unfolding geopolitical crisis that infects British politics, the security services, and the media.

Based on Patricia Cornwell's best-selling Kay Scarpetta novels, Scarpetta follows Dr Scarpetta's journey across two differing timelines, her early career as a chief medical examiner in the late 1990s and the present day, where she investigates a grisly murder. Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is the leading lady – playing a brilliant forensic pathologist navigating the psychological toll of pursuing justice – while Jamie Lee Curtis stars as Dorothy Farinelli, Scarpetta's complicated sister.

Last One Laughing series 2, Prime Video

Series two of Last One Laughing, the acclaimed unscripted comedy series hosted by Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty, will air its first three episodes on 19 March, before the rest follow a week later. The series sees comedians use every ounce of their comedic talents to try and break their opponents without cracking up themselves. The show is packed with comedy cameos, format twists and surprises designed to elicit laughs from both players and viewers alike. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, Netflix
