It may officially be the start of summer, but with rainy skies and chilly evenings predicted, we’re not exactly being enticed outside for BBQs and sundowners. Make the most of the gloomy British climes and settle in for a streaming scorcher instead, with a host of final instalments and long-awaited follow ups. From the next chapters of Squid Game and The Bear, to a thrilling docu-films on the Titan submersible tragedy, here are the best new films and TV shows to stream in June 2025.
Stick, Apple TV+
Starring Owen Wilson as esteemed golfer Pryce Cahill, Apple TV+’s new sporting comedy is all about new beginnings and forgiveness. We meet Cahill in the midst of a breakdown: his high-profile career is fading away after consecutive tournament losses, and his marriage has broken down. Then he meets teenage golfer, Santi, who is set to be the next big thing. As Cahill mentors him in a last-ditch attempt to salvage his own reputation, he realises that this might just be the thing that saves him.

Titan: The OceanGate Disaster, Netflix
Netflix’s docu-film on the events leading up to the Titan submersible implosion in June 2023 is set to be a controversial one – given the real-life disaster unfolded just two years ago – but it’s also set to be one of the streaming giant’s biggest draws this month. Delving deep into the rise of American tourism company OceanGate, and its ambitious but erratic CEO Stockton Rush, the film ultimately exposes how the plan to reach the eerie depths of the Titanic wreck was doomed from the start.

The Buccaneers season 2, Apple TV+
Imogen Waterhouse, Kristine Frøseth and Aubri Ibrag return for the second season of Apple TV+’s The Buccaneers, joined this time by Gossip Girl legend Leighton Meester. Following the lives of several young American women sent to debut at the London season in the 1870s, and with the expectation to secure not only husbands but titles, the new eight-episode series has as much gossip, drama and tight corsets as the first season – but now the women know exactly how to play the dating game, expect the ball to be firmly in their court…

We Were Liars, Prime Video
Based on the 2014 novel of the same name by E. Lockhart, We Were Liars is a psychological thriller following the dysfunctional Sinclair family as they holiday on a private island in New England. Protagonist Cadence Sinclair suffers a head injury which causes amnesia, meaning she can’t recall anything that happened during a specific to the island. Then we meet her circle of ‘Liars’ and discover how their friendship has descended into chaos.

Ironheart, Disney+
Marvel fans will be getting exactly what they want from Ironheart this month. Following on from 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the six episodes focus on university student Riri Williams as she returns home to Chicago and becomes entangled with the enigmatic Parker Robbins (aka The Hood), discovering secrets about the power of magic which push her down a path of danger and adventure.

The Bear season 4, Hulu
Jeremy Allen White reprises the role of chef Carmy in the fourth season of award-winning series The Bear, picking up where it left on last series’ cliffhanger. As Carmy’s team of chefs – Ayo Edebiri (Sydney), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richie), Liza Colón-Zayas (Tina) and Lionel Boyce (Marcus) – lick their wounds after a scathing restaurant review in The Chicago Tribune, kitchen politics heighten and the temperature rises as the team try to achieve a Michelin star.

Squid Game season 3, Netflix
Picking up in the aftermath of season two’s bloody cliffhanger, the third and final season of Netflix’s most popular series to date finds Gi-hun, aka Player 456, at his lowest point yet. But the Squid Game stops for no one, so Gi-hun will be forced to make some important choices as he and the surviving players are thrust into ever deadlier games that test everyone’s resolve. Meanwhile, In-ho resumes his role as Front Man, welcoming the mysterious VIPs, and his brother Jun-ho continues his search for the elusive island, unaware there’s a traitor in their midst. Will Gi-hun make the right decisions, or will Front Man finally break his spirit?
