I’m no Grinch when it comes to Christmas. I love decking the halls, nibbling on mince pieces, sipping mulled wine, shopping ‘til I’m dropping, carolling by candlelight – you get the gist, all the clichés. And, when it comes to Christmas dressing, the same applies: a good Christmas jumper is my first point of call.
Now, when I say Christmas jumpers, I’m not referring to the tacky, garish, obscenely cheesy novelty varieties. Save those for children and fancy dress. I’m taking elegant, chic knits that can be worn from celebratory drinks to snuggling up by the fire, while still being fun, festive and fabulous.
Whether sparkly, sequinned, Fair Isle or sealed with a bow, here’s my edit of the best Christmas jumpers to see you through the festive season. Invest now and be sure to wear yours on Christmas Jumper Day; the annual Save the Children fundraising event taking place on 11 December 2025.
